good price or too many miles?

For that price you can get a low mileage 2006, fully customized engine, bodykit, great upgrades, rims etc maybe even with Lambo doors... search the auctions there are great used car loans online that will also include shipping....
Good Luck with the purchase and please do some homework before buying and be ready for any surprises ( it's a sportscar not an average DD family car, anything can happen wether you autocross or garage baby it .....
but that's my 2 cent

45k Low Mileage 2006 for $8 or $9,000 BUY IT PRICE , if you're serious, I have never seen a better deal than this ... allthough it's a salvage still looks clean
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mazda...item20afe39b8d
Example:
$9,000 - buy the car
$1000 - Shipping + Taxes
$1000 - registration + insurance
$1000 - lambo doors or other upgrades
There is the $12,000
JUST an example if I were to buy an RX8 with $12k

I bought mine, 58k miles, 2004, not power everything, sunroof, for 10,000. Clean Title.
Save yourself a lot of headaches, get a clean title. Carfax is your best friend.
And also by definition, it was not just an accident....
Salvage:
A salvage vehicle is a vehicle that has been wrecked or damaged beyond repair; declared a total loss by the insurer; or declared a total loss by reason of theft. When an insurance company as a result of a total loss settlement acquires a vehicle, the insurance company must apply for a Salvage Certificate. If the owner retains possession of a salvage vehicle, the owner must obtain a Salvage Certificate before receiving a total loss statement from the insurance company.

I clearly stated it was a salvage at the beginning, why don't people read, you spent 10k on a used 2004 with almost 60,000 miles on it, and worst of all stock, and not with all the power mods, ur insane I would never pay more than $7k even if it has a CLEAN TITLE don't care it's a 2004....
I got my 2006 for under $10k CASH auction 28,000 miles on it 1 year ago, all the power mods ( stock ) of course don't want upgrades on the engine... CLEAN TITLE it was a REPO, just got the engine replaced allthough never had any rare issues, but didn't pass the compression test... I'm sure there are many great deals that not everyone can accept reality, I suggest waiting and saving is the key to have and experience what others can't at the moment...
It's just my opinion, those who vouch .. CHEERS.. those who disagree "SUCH IS LIFE"

Your first statement said nothing about a salvage...
I realize you said salvage -_-" Which was why i pointed that out.
Actually 10k was very cheap, go through some craigslist classifieds in SoFla, you wont find anything better.
Repo's are fine, but i dont go to auctions, it was my first car, im modding it myself.
I wanted a clean car that i could do things to, and was never modded so i would know that the miles put on it werent "hard" miles.

There's a bit of misinformation in this thread I want to clarify:
- CarFax is NOT your friend. It's terrible. Not all accidents are reported on CarFax. AutoCheck is better but even it's not going to be 100% accurate. Your eyes are the best way to determine if a vehicle has been wrecked or not. If your eyes aren't up to the task then take it to a professional.
- Wrecked cars CAN drive perfectly fine, it's all dependant on the shop. I owned a 2006 Honda Civic Si that had the entire front end replaced after I rear-ended a Mercedes. $14,000, some structual repair, and two months later I had a car back that looked BETTER than new and drove just as great as it did before. It also had a lifetime warranty for all the repairs that were done. Get it done right and the car will be problem-free. With that said don't assume that every car is fixed perfectly. If you know it's been wrecked give it a GOOD looking over like in my first suggestion.
- Salvage cars are a HUGE risk not only because you don't know how well they were repaired, but because you'll get grief from both insurance companies and banks when you try to buy it. A lot of times it's harder to get financed and insurance companies won't want to play ball with you when you try to insure it. If you are going to buy a salvage car make SURE you talk to both your bank and insurance companies before doing it.
- Lastly, assuming that car isn't a GT it's high on price. You can find better deals. Unless that car is as clean as it gets, comes with a nice service history, etc., I'd probably walk on it and search for one with lower mileage.
Oh, the accident I referred to above still hasn't shown up on a CarFax to this day. It happened two years ago. That same car was also rear-ended (it was a cursed car) a year before my major accident and that's not on the CarFax either!
Good luck!

I paid $16k for an optioned-out GT with 9,200 miles in July 09. Not only had it never seen a winter, it had never been driven in rain. Lot's of these things are toy cars, especially up north. Remember too, every year newer gives you another year on the 8yr/100k engine warranty.
