Question good/bad deal for an 06 rx8?

Hello everyone. Newbie to this site, from illinois xD Looking to get an RX-8 soon. After looking around I came across one that had the red/black leather interior that i wanted in velocity red. Just thought i'd get some opinions on whether its a good price or not. Thanks in advance!

That's a really good deal. Hopefully i can get it down to 13k. I really want this car been looking at it for some months now. Looking at reviews and such. I'll be going to see it this weekend hopefully everything goes my way xD not sure if in the edit you were talking about your car or the VR, but yeah red/black leather interir, with the sunroof and bose speakers. The nav isnt a big deal. I've seen someone on here replace there dash with a nav system. But yeah anyway, i'm hoping to get into the rx8 family soon

edit: also, this is a pretty big noob question but, how can you tell the difference between a touring rx8 and grand touring rx8? i believe the difference between those two and the sport is the leather seats (correct me if i'm wrong). but how can you tell the difference between touring and grand touring? thanks again

okay thanks for clearing that up. hmm...i just checked kbb. and the retail price for it is about $19,780. So it's already at a great price but a bit lower won't hurt. Also how much is insurance for this car. Is a bit less then most coupes since it has 4 doors?

Dealer= 10k-12 depending on locale.
Private offer 13 maybe 13.5

Dealers always tack on an extra 2k, Private, usually 1k

I see i see. Sorry for all these questions but, about how much would it cost to get the windows tinted? Also approximately how much would it be to get the stock rims painted black?

Most of these question have a lot to do with the area where you are purchasing. Insurance for example is different with ur driving record state address where its being kept etc...

The rims you should powder coat that depends on the place you get it powder coated ive been *quoted* anywhere from 50 a rim to 150 a rim.

Tinting is the same issue just shop around try 3 or 4 different places and pick which ever one you feel comfortable with and has a reasonable price...

hope that helps.

and my previous edit reffered to my car

Also if you havent already, pull a carfax on it and get the VIN call mazda and make sure all recalls have been preformed, tell them your interested in buying the car used and wanna make sure its been taken care of... They will also tell you how much warranty you have left. best of luck I hope you get it!

Yup checked the carfax report. Seems good to me. Doesnt have rebuilt or salvage. No accident damage. Recent things done to the car were this whiche was done on May 16th. Brakes checked,Maintenance inspection completed, Oil and filter changed, chassis lubricated, Tires replaced. And i'm guessing the number to call is their "customer assistance center" number. Also i see nothing about recalls besides the the one on august 14th saying "no recalls open for repair"

bad news. Just got an email today from the dealer saying that the RX-8 got sold. Busy schedule works against you sometimes. Well if anyone knows anyone selling a grand touring rx8 with either red/black interior, cloth interior, or a red copper shinka please let me know xD
Once the right one comes around i'll finally be part of the mazda family. ciao.
