Well, it's been about 8 years now that I've wanted to get an RX-8. Never could justify the price when I didn't have kids, then I couldn't justify the space for rear facing car seats.

Everybody's all facing front now, and I found the perfect match for my very specific criteria! It's an 05 Winning Blue, only option it has is the spoiler, so the weight is kept down. Has 36,000 miles, and got it for $10,950.

No clunks, smooth shifts from first to second, third, and to fourth. Has good power all the way to the top.

All I can say, is wow. This car is amazing. Interior is top notch, even if I feel a little large for it (6'4", 240 lbs). Steering is wonderful. I'm pretty used to my ZX2, so with the FWD, it had bad understeer. I just love the way it looks, and the chassis seems so stiff, that there is no delay in anything. It just does it.

I think I'm in love!!!!!











I think the only thing I'm unsure about so far is the flip key. Just wearing jeans around, made the key flip out every time it was in my pocket. Maybe that'll change with my work clothes... Either way, it's a pretty minor complaint.

 

And yes, I've read all the super duper stickies, first owner thread, etc.

That is a hell of an upgrade man from a ZX2 to a RX8. My RX8 has hailed my kids around for many years now, I never understood the people who trade for something bigger.

Originally we were going to trade a Pontiac G6 in for it, and keep the RX-8 stock. Since we kept the G6, I think it can get modded!

When my wife was driving it back, she said it needed a new clutch, and a CF hood and the aero dams. Haha Then I started the list of things I want. She didn't seem too opposed.


I'm going to be ordering Idemitsu pretty soon, and change the oil to 10w30, at least until I can get the Sohn, then switch to 10w40. I want to decat, and get an Accessport. Of course a short shifter....


Hopefully taking the stuff out of the airbox will help with sound. It's got such a nice tone, I want to hear it more.
