Fair Extended Warranty Price?
I am looking to buy an extended warranty plan for my 2 1/4 week old 8 (900 miles)... I drive 18,000 miles a year on average, and plan to keep the car 5 years.
My local dealer (not the one I bought the car from) has offered the following, after a bit of haggling:
5 years, 100,000 miles, $0 deductible "Platinum Package" for $1200. The Platinum Package is supposed to actually cover more items than the 50,000 mile bumper to bumper policy the 8 comes with.
Payment terms are 10% down, 0% interest for 18 months.
This sounds like a fair deal, but before I accept, I thought I would bounce it off the board to see if others feel the same, or if not, then what would be fair in your opinion for the above policy?
I should clarify, I have no problem giving the dealer a couple hundred dollars profit... I just want a fair deal on both sides.
Thanks in advance for your help.

More than the bumper to bumper? Does that include things outside of the bumpers, like say, my mailbox?
It sounds, OK, nothing earth shattering, but unless I'm remembering figures incorrectly, it sounds decent.
