Extended waranty

Hey guys, I did a quick search, but didn't come across anything, I'm sure it's out there, but it didn't make itself obvious.

Anyways, I have the 60,000 mile warranty and am no were near that being up (at 23k right now) but how much does the 100,000 mile extended warranty cost? Because I am worried about the motor going at 70,000 or something as many people's on the forums have.

I have a 2006 GT and don't have performance upgrades or anything... yet.

Any advice or pricing info?

by the core only, you mean just like the rotor and the housing and all that. As compared to pretty much all engine parts with the regular warranty?

core warranty was already issued, all rx8s have the core warranty for FREE up to 100k miles...if you want an extended drive train warranty it will cost you roughly 2k....that means alternators, waterpumps and what not...your engine core (rotors and housing) is already covered for free by mazda up to 100k miles

Right, the 2k part answers my question.

Now I guess I'd ask do you think it's worth the 2k? I'll probably drive the car until it dies. Because I'd take it to college with me and stuff, plus. I love it more than life. I guess I kinda answered my own question...

i say you go out and hangout with your fellow rotorheads, if they know their stuff and know how to work on a car, itll probably be cheaper to have then help you install parts if anything were to go wrong, or maybe a reputable shop that know what they are doing...if not then yeah its worth it, who know what might go wrong

is the 100k core warranty a 5 yr/100k that expires when whatever comes first? or is it more like 10 yr or just 100k no matter what? does the core warranty apply to all years or RX-8's?

8yr\100k what ever comes first, and it applies to all 8s made before 09
