Could this be a good deal?

Hey, I'm JP, first post, maybe not the last if the deal goes well. But I really need your feedback.

Just got back from a ride with a used RX-8. Really fun car to drive and looks great. Front chin spoiler, window tint, and all the stuff the GT has.

I have a fully-equipped with leather and sunroof MZ3 2006 with 24500 km that I could trade-in. Checked my insurrance, they would be around the same (100$ more). The price of the RX-8, 2 years old, is actually lower than my 3 bought last year.. :| Only thing annoying me is the interest going up. I'm hoping to pay less than 100$ a month more for this car than what I'm paying now.

So, does that sounds like a good deal?

Thanks; price is in canadian btw.

well, duh

you see, the problem with the question is you want to buy a rx-8 and get a good deal. only problem is no matter what you spend on the car you always end up with a rx-8 in the end, so there are no good deals on rx-8... only disappointed customers

I think what the above poster meant to say () was that buying a high-performance sports car will be more expensive in ways that are not immediately visible on the price tag.

Spend some time reading the forums to see what issues people are having. Factor in some more cash for the little things that you need to do when you buy a car... If you can afford it, you will not regret it (hell, I CAN'T and I still don't)...

actully the only thing i didnt regret about my rx-8 was selling it xD. i loved my 94RX-7, but i thought i needed something newer. driving the n/a rx-8 i assumed that i could realize more power if not the same as an older modle. wow was i wrong, i had a list of problems with that car and i even had a delightful expiriance when the mazda dealership couldnt explian why water was in my oil. which was the last straw for me. so i moved onto a evo 9 MR and that same day i bought my wife a scooby sti put about $3.5k into each of them and was amazed at the power they produce. my mitsu does have higher insurance but my scooby is dirt cheap.

Yeah, I finally decided to keep the 3. I don't think I wanna spend that much money maintaining the car + I'm pretty sure the 3 has a better reliability. I don't see me having the rx8 10 years from now.

Thanks anyway; the test-drive was sure fun though.

dozer a 90 240 is sick with it, friend of mine has a 92 240sx drift car. we go out on the track all the time in that nothing drifts like a 240 except a RX-7! you see, you went from as you say "a **** box" to something that was newer and steps way up on the social scale(could have been anything that wasnt beat to ****). but if you new what a 94 RX-7 tt was like, then got back into your rx-8 you'd know the feeling. its like going from a ferrari(rx-7) to a ford(rx-8). they dont handle, accellerate, brake, or look as good. its like taking one step forward and ten steps back

Oh, by the way. The ad said that it's 5 passengers.... it's actually only 4.

That's not a good deal at all, considering people are walking of the lot with brand-new 8's for $23-24k. 24 for a 2-year old 40k miles car is just stupid. Do some reading!
