Car swapping?

I hear people talking about how they traded their autos for a manual trans. What I'm wondering is if any of you did it while on a lease? The reason I ask is because when (if) Mazda makes an MS RX-8 in the states, I’d love to be able to resign new papers and trade in my old car without taking a huge hit. Right now, I know there is a hefty fee attached with opting out of a lease early.

I have never heard of anyone getting out of a lease without major penalty, unless they found someone to take over the car and the lease payments.

i would hope that the people who are trading autos in for manuals are people who are buying not leasing. i dont think they can get out of the lease without paying huge penalties even if they want to trade for a similar car.

Getting out of a lease early is usually pretty painful financially. You might want to look into sites like leasetrader.com. But when is your lease up? The MS RX-8 isn't going to be out for a few years anyway, so you probably don't even need to worry about getting out of the lease early.

you'd be better off wrecking your car and buying a new one...

I bought both of mine cash money. I already had $6,000 set aside for a turbo kit originally for the automatic anyway.
