Be really careful dealing with browning mazda. I personally had a very experience trying to buy a rx8 from them back in march.

can you elaborate on what happened? They seem to have most of the 05s around here that are available

Couple of tips:

1. yes, new left over 05's should get you MINIMUM of $7K off MSRP. Some guys did as well as $8-9K on GT models. Check the "Closing Price" thread to see details.

2. Negotiate your "Out-the-Door" price including taxes, fees, etc. THEN, talk about financing, not b4. If you did at least $7K of MSRP b4 taxes you are golden, but surely try for more.

Best of luck...

They have leftover 05's? How many? I'll call them on Friday and grab one for sure if they do.

Go to mazdausa.com and browse inventory for your area. You'll see ALL the new 8's. 2006 and 2005 mixed in...

Definitely not unusual. Were I bought my 2006, there were 5 or so in a bunch. So sexy to see 5 brand new 8's together!!

Don't expect to see many Shinka's, Chapparal, Red/Black leather interiors, etc in these bunches. Most of them are long gone but you'll still get some nice stuff...

Well I emailed them on one of the 05's (the cheapest one). It has an MSRP of $31k. They email back with a "Internet/Fleet Discounted Price" of $29k. Guess I'll have to negotiate a bit and get $7-8k lopped off that. What do you guys think is my best method of attack? Should I call up? Or should I negotiate in person. Also what price should I negotiate for you think? $22k?

$7-8K off MSRP is your target. $29K is BS. Prolly more than Invoice!!

Use the "What Was Your Closing Price" thread to show examples of others getting 05's for that price.

Don't walk in to the dealer until you have your price out the door. Financing shouldnt be more than 7.5%

Unless you own a dealership, there's no way you'll find out how much they actually pay for the car. My guess would be that for a leftover '05 sitting on lots right now there's gotta be thousands cash back direct to the dealer and/or customer. Some will turn over most/all of it, some jokers will quote you $2K off sticker for what is essentially a 2 year old car .

How much should I negotiate for a new '05 with Sport Package and Spare Tire kit?

They offered me 23888 at the moment for it. I want to hit 22k out the door. You think that's reasonable?

well I felt the MSRP seemed overpriced. I mean without the sport package and the tire kit the MSRP was 27,$$$. I think that's overpriced for a base model with cloth interior. All they did was take that price and add a sport package (1### something dollars) and the tire kit. So I think their MSRP is overpriced to beginw with. But it was something on the order of 29,340 was the MSRP.

MSRP = $29340
Subtract $7K

$22340 + Tax, title fees. You did well. If you get more off you did exceptional. Base price with NOTHING is $26500 so $29340 not too far off...

i bought my 05' GT from them. 7000 off, which is like 25k + tax in april. and i heard 3 weeks after i bought my car, they are doing 7200 off, and now is 7500 off.

i think it is kinda hard to get more than what they offer( 8000 off or more)

and i went there 2 days ago, and i saw 3 05' and 1 06' left.
there is a sliver with GT package only , a red touring with apperance package, and i blue touring or sport package(i forgot)

You should go for 21+tax on a car with a 31 MSRP. My car was 30,200 MSRP and I paid 22 including tax/title/license. It's a sport 6spd with appearance package/rotary accents/all weather mats/no spoiler exactly how I wanted it. I believe the math works out to 10,000 off original MSRP+TTL
