Question Best time to buy? New vs Used? Package?

First of all, I wanted to introduce myself. I have been a Mazda "fan" for a looong time... Currently I have a Turbo Miata 1990 that I am selling so I can get some money for the RX8...

Last Monday, at a current track event at THILL, I made the "mistake" of driving a RX8... and that's all it took,... 1 lap and I was hooked... 24 hours passed by and I already had my Miata for sale...

I am decent track driver and I instruct some events... Needless to say, I will leave the RX8 stock until the end of warranty so I need to get for the right package for me...

Anyways,
I am looking to get a nice RX8 for a decent price...Definitely a sports package...
So my questions are...
1) What is the best time to buy the 05? late summer I believe right? since 06 are showing up at the dealerships right?
2) What should I expect to pay for a sports package? Online buying is better than any other places? Currently the dealer has a $3500.00 OFF MSRP (yeah right) incentive on new 05
3) Based on my needs, what package do you recommend?

Sorry for so many questions...
TIA!!!

Have you considered a leftover 04'? There's some incredible deals out there right now. Logic says you'd need to wait till this time next year to get as good a deal on an 05'.

And some of the more "in-tune" here could correct me, but I don't really think there's much changed 04' > 05'. At least not of any real substance (Some new colors I think???). Last chance to pick up a yellow one, too!

Just my 2 pennies...

The 04 = 05 basicly

Only real difference is the color yellow for 04 = the white for 05.

The minor changes are like the color of the windshield washer fluid container (04 was black and 05 is clear) and something else. Nothing that affect performance.

Get a left over 04 now, the best deal at around at $4,000 and more under INVOICE it can't be beat.

The sports pack is a gotta have - since you get the HID headlights, stability and traction controls (for when you are not on the track), and fog lights for < $800 dealer cost.

A new, left over 04 with just the sports pack would be around $22,000 after getting the $4,000 off and getting into the hold back. That is a smoking deal for a new 8.
