avg. trade in price?

I was offered 18,500 for my 04 with 22k miles and dead tires. The car is flawless otherwise. Is this about average? Unfortuantely, I need a sedan that will get me through weather...so teh 8 has to go

Thanks guys!

I did, but I was looking for real world accounts. The online numbers seem to be too high. Thanks!

KBB tends to be a little extreme in favor of dealers. Nada seems to be a little closer- try http://www.nadaguides.com

Also try autotrader.com, cars.com, etc- look what others in your area are selling similar cars for, and remember people usually get a little less than they ask for.

Also, expect to get a lot less out of a trade in than you could get selling yourself. If you have the time, you will likely gain at least $2k by selling yourself, even if you sell for a competitive price.

$17,500-19k seems to be the average from other car dealers.

18.5 seems a tad low but you always lose on the trade in
