anyone have info on upcoming rebates?
I am looking to get an 8 in the next few months, but I read on here about the possiblity of rebates this summer up to $5k. Does anyone have any info on this? anyone know when they are going to do this if they do, like May, June, etc? Any and all info will be appreciated.
I am so anxious to get this car, I want it NOW, but I know I would regret getting it now if I can save thousands in a few months.

I heard the same thing about rebates somewhere, but I doubt it would be in the neighborhood of $5000. Maybe 1-2 thousand topps. That, plus whatever deal you could swing with the dealer could give you something near $4000-$5000 off MSRP. With the economy suffering, people just can't afford new cars, and if people do the research on this car they will note the poor gas mileage as well. With gas prices likely to skyrocket again this summer, that will be another turn off for the 8.

I called mazda today and the guy told me that nothing will change until at least the beinning of april, that's when the next rebate period starts, but he didn't know if there will be any rebates on the 8 or not. He said I will have to wait and see. I'm just hoping someone on here might have some additional info

You guys are very smart!
i remember looking for this car in February and the dealer mentioned that since the spring/summer is the time that they can push the most RX8's out the door they will add either a special APR and or Rebates to help...with gas prices rising, and gas mileage where it is on the car they would have to do this to compete with other cars...
Anyone looking to buy an 8 now wait a few weeks (if you can stomach it)..lol and it will be well worth it...I qualify for the S-plan and so with a special APR or rebate it would be killer....especially with the recent recall and all, 1st to 2nd week in may would be the time to buy...

I know the feeling....especially since the dealer is on my way home and 2 minutes walking distance from my house....i just know i will hate myself if i go buy the thing and a week later they have specials on it....and with my luck that is exactly what will happen...

if you want to be really smart, wait until december. The dealers are at the end of year sales trying to push up the number of cars they sold that year, but due to holidays, and winter, most people are not buying cars.
If I were to wait, I'd wait till around december - then I'd have my pick of the 05 RX-8's and be able to get one at a good price.....
But, I decided to get one earlier this month because uhh.... I get to enjoy my RX-8 for the summer, and 8 months of pain staking waiting is not my forte.

I think the '05 should be coming out in August/September. So I think I can wait 2/3 more months until I can find a really good deal. It's gonna be really hard though. I seen a lot of RX-8 around now too. I think there is a owner of a Silver RX-8 living near me.

Well you certainly have more willpower than me, i picked mine up the other day..I seriousley could not wait any longer....what would kill me is if the '05 had a more powerful engine...although i don't think they would make such a drastic change so quickly...but who knows we'll see..the good thing about waiting for the '05 is that any little quirks with a first year production car will be worked out....

Wishful thinking. Mazda plans NO rebates or Dealer incentives. The RX-8's are selling themselves. Look at most dealers, they are charging a premium and/or adding dealer extras.
