I called AAA car buying service and contacted the local dealer that participates in their program. The program allows you to see the invoice price of the car you want and you get the car for $100 over invoice price. I got a price of $28,395 for a 2005 White M/T with the touring package and the in-dash 6 disc-changer. Of course this is not including TTL and I does not include the $1,000 MAC rebate. I like working with this dealer, but want to make sure this seems like a good price.

 

That is an outstanding price... Touring package at most dealers goes for around 31K... Go for IT!

 

If it were a GRAND touring that would be an excellent price...not so good for just a touring (cloth seat) model.

I wouldnt pay over 29k for a Grand Touring...around 27.5k for a Touring...etc...

but thats just my opinion.

For a touring package i would say its definity a reasonable price.The most important thing is that you like the car and if you feel its worth it to you then go for it.

 

He's paying LESS than 27.5k when you take into account the rebate. Are you claiming you could get the Touring for 27.5k BEFORE rebate? I don't think we're seeing the same super deals at the end of '05 that there were at the end of '04. I think crisis is getting a good price (he could probably make it $100 farther--all the way to invoice without too much trouble), as long as there's no crazy dealer "handling/delivery" fees that get tacked on like some dealers like to do.

 

$28,395 is a good price for Grand Touring. For a touring package you should be able to get a much better price. You have the bargaining power, as time is running our for the dealer.

I don't think I mentioned that this car also has the 6 disc changer already installed which is listed for $500 on mazda's site.

I also just received an e-mail for a $500 rebate after I filled out the two rebate links on the mazdausa.com site. How can I tell if it's for the gerber rebate or not, because I don't have the original offer.

 

I agree. You should check the inventory on Mazda's website, and if this is the last car in your region that's equipped and colored the way you want it, then go ahead and buy it because it's a fair price. On the other hand, if there are a bunch of acceptable cars still out there in your region, then you might get an even better price by playing dealers off each other, or simply waiting for prices to drop and/or incentives to rise as we get closer to '06.

 

It seems that this car is pretty much the only one with the options I want. I'm looking for a white '05 M/T with the touring package and without the factory spoiler. I've only found one other that has these features but it does have the factory spoiler, which I really don't want. The price is fair and I can't find another car with the options I want in the color I want.
