Hi,

I'm new on the block so I will try to answer. If I miss state please feel free to correct me.

On the 04 I think this is not a "real" issue anymore as long as you get the ECU/computer chip flashed at the dealer to the latest revision. I believe it is M. However I would still rev up to around 3K RPM when turning off. Also keep in mind this car is not made for short trips to the grocery store, etc..

Also I would get a manual transmission. I have an 04 automatic. I thought, wrongly, that the mantronic or shifter paddles would be the equivalent....I was wrong. So if you are looking for more "pep" then the MT is the way to go as it is tuned differently.

Also, I am not sure what year they did this, try to get a 6 port engine over the 4 port engine. Again though I am unsure if that was an option on the 04.

Other than that I like my ride, two months old to me. I have already updated the stereo with some love . I am this weekend changing all interior lights to a dark red and adding three led strips. Two for the two foot wells inside and one in the trunk. Cost, around $70 (thanks V-LED for great service).

I plan to do more interior and exterior mods as money permits.

Take care and zoom zoom ,

Brian

Talking what years have 4 or 6 ports?

that would be a useful tid-bit, although im not quite what ports you speak of but they sound important , and i'd like to know more...
and you said ECU re-flash... is there anyway to know if thats been done already, besides taking it to have it done?
2004's are alot more affordable, but if it has these 4 ports you speak of... im pretty sure i could find a 2005 gt m-6spd for not to much more...
id just like to know which is the better buy for the long haul....
at least til RENESIS II comes out in 2010

4 ports in the US are for the automatic trans.......they are the lower powered 8's....if your looking for a manual you are getting the high powered version any way....as for ECU flash if the last recall was done you are up to date....if not you take it in and it gets flashed for free any way.....there are many 100k+ mileage 8's around here now so longevity has been proven
