In March, 2010, I paid that much for a new leftover 2009 R3. I understand the incentives right now are as good or better for leftover 2010s. Unless I'm missing something, I have to believe there are MUCH better deals out there than that.

Meh, another local SARX member paid right at $20,000 for his R3 with 9,000 miles on it. I would talk them down another $2,000.00.

Thanks guys, got them down to 19099 4.9% 300 for 72months and of course, "thats as low as i can go" says the dealer. Test drove today pretty nice! Thinking about taking it for that.

Couldnt get the dealer any lower, but got a decent trade value on my truck considering it has 192000miles. Former SHOnut converting to rotohead this week. This forum truly adds value to the purchase of an 8 thanks all!

Only problem now is deciding to premix or not and what viscosity to run, but there are plenty of threads on that.

Price is great, but only if the finance rate could've been a little lower...

I made a mistake of signing up at 4.9% for 72 months on mine, but then I corrected myself by re-financing with my own bank @ 3.19% for 48 months. Worked out better for me, and I saved a good amount on the financing. I didn't mind going up on my monthly payments, and so I just shortened the term to 48 months, even though I still had the option to go for 72 months.

You got a good price on your 8, regardless. Congrats & enjoy!

Dang, based on this thread I talked the the price down of a 2010 R3 to 29,600 drive off. I have a deposit on the car right now, and haven't signed the paper work yet so I can still back out.

Mileage: 1200

The problem is there aren't a lot of them around, (4 within a 250 mile radius) and its the dealers show car.

Thus I as questioning whether it is possible to get a year old R3 for 20K.

Price before TTL = $27,250 (+/- $250)

^ Yeah, $29,600 OTD (with 1,200 miles) is too much. I bought my new 2010 R3 about 5 months ago for $26,240 + TTL ($28,222.72 OTD), and it had 212 miles on the odometer. So you definitely should be able to get a better deal than me, especially since the 2011's are already here (even though the 2011's are limited in quantity & discounts). I think you should be paying no more than $24k-$24,500 + TTL, for your specific one. IMO, $25k + TTL would be the limit though. Paying anything above that would be your call.

From what I've learned on this forum, buying slightly used may be the best way to save the most money. I saw a used '10 R3 w/5k miles, for $23,995 + TTL about a month ago... And that was without any negotiation.

I've also heard that a few people got used '09 R3's (with maybe 10k-15k miles) for very close to $20k + TTL.

Just talked a dealer down to $20k + TT on a new 2010 sport. Trying for $20k OTD. Sound feasible?

There's no secret really. Just search online for good deals and play dealers against each other. I tell dealers about the deals that people on here claim to get as part of the negotiation as well.

Where at? What mileage? Was there a trade involved? What was the OTD pricing including fees?

Pretty much. With my GTI i also used truecar.com to see pricing and get quotes. They usually give a good starting point but not really with RX8s. The trick is to be confident and patient and don't take their BS. Don't be afraid to lowball. It doesn't matter if your offer is $8,000 or $800 less then sticker price... they will always say no the first time.

The $18.000 was for a base sport model. The car had 216 miles on it. No sunroof, traction control or power seats. Being a current owner, I went down the list of known problems with the car and the poor gas mileage. I told them to give me their best price right off the bat, I did not intend to negotiate. So that was their offer. My car is paid for, I was really just killing time waiting on my oil change. But it just shows how bad they want to move the remaining 2010s

That is pretty much the car I would want. minimal gizmos, no sunroof but I would want sport differential.
Can you send me that dealer info.

They must not be that anxious to get rid of the cars down south. The cheapest I found was a dealer that offered me 26.5k +TTL, but I would have had to drive 3 hours one way for a saving of $700 which wasn't worth it. (Still referring to 2010 R3).

I think I'll wait a little bit longer.
