the internet guy didn't work out of the dealership but some other location. Im not sure I was 100% prepared to buy that day so i was probably shooting for an unrealistic price.. i asked about 31500 out the door.

the internet price will be before tax tag title and fees.

29299 + 6percent tax = 31056.94
+200 for tag
+800 for fees
------------
32056.94

you want 31.5 out the door. if the internet guy is for real, you have a very workable deal. find him.

i'm not sure what your tax is there or what the fees are. i'm also not sure if it's a great deal. what is the msrp of the vehicle you're looking at?

Huh.. I'm surprised I managed to get the deal I got and you're not able to.. Tell them what price you want to pay, and if they say no, just walk out, they'll call you back within a few weeks just watch and then when they do you can twist their arms a bit more by dropping it another grand or lower the monthly payments if you choose to lease.

I'm currently working to end my lease and buy my car though.

As for fees, you can negotiate those sometimes, I paid 200$ in fees, no tag fees (transferred the plate).

This is the deal i got over the phone from a dealer out of state, 31500 out the door with spare tire kit, all weather mats and cargo net for an 09 rx8 r3.

First Dealer had one in stock here in Michigan but the sales guys were bullshiting me all the way on the price .. So i told them to **** off, over a 200.00 on the price.
I think they thought just because its the only one in Michigan they got me by the ***** lol...

I told them give me this price, if not i will go to Ohio were they got like 10 r3 in the state, they did not take me serious lol. ( Lost A SALE) Now the local Mazda guy is calling me with a better deal ...

But the moral of the story stay hard on the price you want to pay.. and be sure to wait a couple of weeks for a phone call from the sales guys. They will call trust me.....

Well here i go today to Ohio to pic up my new rex ...

Darklord, so far I've been pretty successful knocking down some of the payments this past week (drove up to Broward to find a better deal). As far as for getting a used rx8, I currently have a leased 2007 (one more payment left), however I wanted to get a manual transmission this time around. Let's see, I'm waiting for this month to see if the residual value improves from last month and if any better incentives arise (the rates I've been quoted were for 730+ score). Again, thanks for all the assistance and I hope to post some new pictures soon on my new to be rx8!

mcmillion, you can definitely lower the price on the R3 as I was looking at one the other day. You should be able to lower it to around the $28,xxx mark, considering you want to reach $31,500 out the door. Just be patient like everyone is saying, and they will call. (I know, it's difficult!) Best of luck.

I would say as of now 28k is about as low as you will get for an R3 (+ ttl). Good thing for buyers is that of all the car buying people in the country, there is so little interest in the 8 that you will be sure to get a great deal if you are patient. Dealers will make very little on the sale of 8s becasue they are so "undesirable". I've gotten the old "its the only one around" or "its the only one in the state" from almost every dealer Ive talked to and I pretty much told them to f*ck off on the spot when they more or less refused to negotiate on the price.. Salesman seriously must be programmed to assume everyone who walks in the door is an idiot. Hope they realize that a ton of 8s will be sitting on their lots all summer doing nothing more than collecting people's fingerprints.

And as a side note, I would like to walk into a dealership someday and have a salesman who is very enthusiastic and knowledgable about the car I am looking at and actually try to "sell" it to me. Lately I have seen nothing that even resembles a competent salesman. The closest I ever came when I was initially looking at the 350z before I bought my 8. Ill admit that salesman was pretty damn good and knew everything about the car (probably because he had one himself) but that was over 5 years ago. In my whole 8 buying experience there was not a single salesman who knew jack about the car.

Well i got the rex home from Ohio and very happy with my purchase . The deal i got 31500.00. That price included fees, tax 6%, spare tire kit, all weather floor mats, and cargo net for 31500.00. I think that is a great deal to me. (to each is own)

If you are lucky to find a better deal goo for it...

I haven't tried, I think it does.. it comes with an AUX port though, so if anything, take a CD player with you and plug into AUX. I carry around my MP3 player.

well one MP3 CD would be a lot more convenient than plug/unplug your mp3 player everytime you enter and exit the car, and its easier to change songs while you're driving. why cant they just have one disc cd player that supports mp3 format. one MP3 CD> 6 CD changer, simple.
