Haven't purchased one yet. But got the following quotes in the SF Bay Area all GT's w/o NAV at three different dealers:
$25,900 (MSRP was $32,325)
$25,400
$25,303
I am not quite ready to purchase myself so I didn't hammer them on these prices. I don't think it's the best they could do. Also, saw a sport at two different dealers for $19k (outside CA).
Let us all know how you make out.

That's slightly better than the prices I got from the SF Bay Area dealers a couple months ago. I'm thinking about going for an in person visit this weekend and will let you guys know.

I was looking at the Mazda website yesterday and it looks like the 5k rebate goes at least till the end of this month yet. I was hoping come Dec. it might go up to 6k but I guess not. I'd say the 500 under invoice minus the 5k rebate is pretty close to the best you'll get right now. I've gotten a couple of recent quotes for R3s that were pretty darn close to that.

Unfortunately for me there is only one in the configuration that I want in my area.

Bought Mine At the End of Nov.
SF Bay Area quotes were all pretty much the same for the GTw/o NAV. I did do a lil above invoice to leav something for the sellsman... It was a super easy buying experience. Now, I would not have the done the same without the incentive.
The biggist thing with this car and I am talking about the SF Bay Area is the limited selection of 09 cars. I did not want the NAV, but did want the GT Manual Trans. This car had nothing added by the dealer and had 22miles and was only in the showroom. I did get some pretty good quotes for 2010(s) but why get that when the 09 are the same with a 5K incentive. I know San Fran had two in the color black, one with red interior. In fact one was an R3 and the other a GT. "Boris" was the salesman I spoke to about the car. He is a nice older gentleman with a no nonsense attitude. I had the same price quote for both.
I made my decision on color in the end. As I have a black car now, I did not want another one. I chose a sunlight silver for Mazda of Oakland have been extremely happy with the purchase. Mazda of Oakland is also an Audi dealer, so It was such an easy purchase for begining to end...
If you are looking for used, Marin had a managers special for like 22K... You could prob get that even lower . It had 2k miles and was an 09 BK GT. Another dealer had an 06 45k miles... I would not bother with that though...
If you really want one, dont hold out too long. I purchased mine at the end of Nov, but they did extend the deal to Jan... Still, this car combination is still hard to find... All of the sport modles are sold... I saw a woman driving a blue R3 days before I purchased mine... People are buying them now, so what you want might be gone if you hesitate...
I was going to wait for the new model but I like the 4-door design and might need that in the near future as I might start a family or sell my other car. Hope you do get one at a deal that is fair for you. In the end, that is all that matters... Hope to see you on the Highway soon!!!

i drove to san jose for my r3 (from LA). At some point it becomes worth it to make a slightly longer drive to pick up the car
is the one you want in your area in the color you want as well? When you say 'your area' how much farther away is the next one? pretend like it's not the configuration you want and see where the negotiations get you...?

I found and am buying a 09 GT(no nav) with 18k miles for 19k out the door everything included. So your deal is good I think as long as it doesnt end up adding all the stuff and making it 25 or 26k.

The one I wanted sold -- so if I were to go through with it I'd have to buy from LA.
I decided to keep my 05. I can't justify spending $10k+ to buy the same car. If in a few years the 16x doesn't materialize I can always buy an '09 used later.

Nobody probably cares but I bit the bullet and got put a deposit down on a 09 GT. I'm going to fly out and inspect it before I have it shipped to California.
I managed to get one without a moon roof, so I can make it a believable R3.
