06 Shinkas still around? or 07 deals need advice/help
Hi everyone, i'm from Nor Cal. It seems like there are some good deals on RX-8s lately on 07s and of course leftover 06s. But my question is, how hard is it to find a Black Cherry Shinka anyways since the color is some what rare and how would one go about it to find one here (or what if it's really far too)? Is it possible to get one for about $24,500 or less?
It's either that or go for a 07 Crystal White Pearl Touring, how much would those usually go for considering the 8s are selling too hot at the moment? Thanks!

Just to let you know that the Black Cherry was only made during the year of 2005. the Shinkas for 06 where in Black, White, silver and copper red. The black cherry is a nice color and it would have been nice if they made it again but oh well.

Yes, on 2005 the Shinka was a "true" Special Edition (specific chassis code, numbered plaque affixed to the chassis, exclusive color, wheels, lights)
for 2006 Shinka became more of a "trim level", like Base, Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring (Still had the special add on's from the previous year, but the colors came straight from the factory standard colors, and it had no special/limited numbering, or chassis code.)
The additions that make a SHinka special are:
Cream Sand colored leather interiors with sand colored Alcantra inserts
Piano black trim on the center console (it is silver on evry other RX-8)
Leather wrapped handbrake handle
Larger Dampners (shock absorvers) on the rear
reinforced/urethane filled front crossmember
Sirius satelite radio With 1 year subscription
Shinka badges on the B-pillars

I assume you are looking for a MT but Autowest Mazda in Roseville has a WWP 6AT Touring with Navigation that they have been trying to sell with an advertised $5000 off MSRP.
I got my 06 touring in Nov. from another dealer for $9000+ below MSRP so you should be able to do better now on an 06.

^^ yup i am looking for a MT. 9000 below MSRP? which dealer did you go to in Sacramento? What was the out the door price? thanks
edit: how much do you guys think a 2006 Whitewater Pearl Mica Shinka would cost nowadays? i got a quote from carsdirect of $26,472 but since sales of the car hasn't been too hot..do you think it's possible to go lower than that since it's 07.

Mine was purchased from Wheeler Motors in Yuba City. It was their last 2006 and they haven't restocked any 2007's.
Out the door is tough since Ca DMV calcs taxes and regi on price before rebate, etc. My price with dealer discount and Mazda rebates was $23,750 but tax was based on $27k+-.
You should come in lower on the Shinka qoute but that seems pretty good.

I got my 06 Shinka for $26K (purch date late Oct/Nov 06). Sticker was around $33.6K. You should be able to do better than that. Excellent vehicle, I just needed a second set of shoes for winter, otherwise wonderful car (with some quirks, but any car has them).
Good Luck,
