It's not "Having to borrow".
It's "my financial situation is so poor that the bank will only approve me for $5,000, and I only have another $2,000 to add on top of that". He is maxing his finances out to get an RX-8 that is already going to be on the low end of the totem pole in terms of quality and reliability. It's a recipe for disaster.

I said I got approved for a 5k loan though
I could get more I just don't want to pay more. I'd like to take the 2k I have to throw into it plus 5k and settle on something for 7k.
I see what your what saying now. If 7k is his limit he should get a used eco car for now and save up or get a better job. Worked for me.
