If you had signed the "assign rebate to the dealer" form they would have taken the $500 right off the price of the car. You still have to pay sales tax on the $500 (at least you do here) but no waiting on the check.

And if there is some problem with the rebate, it is now between the dealer and Mazda since you already have the car

I didn't sign that and still got $500 off. I wonder if I'll get a bonus and get ANOTHER $500 check in the mail.....wishful thinking........ :D

 

Gerber rebate sucks, not everyone will qualify for it!

 

I guess, having a brain is one of the requirements.

I guess faffy didn't get the rebate? Brain only required if you are expecting kids, and lets pray he ain't! Dealer says you must get a certificate by mail to qualify even if you follow the link above, truxt me, I've been battling mazda for 3 months!

 

I did not get the certificate by mail. And yet I had no problem collecting $500.

 

well, i am proud of you! I was on the phone with corporate mazda for hours and got no where, but hey if you can afford an RX then whats $500?

 

Seems like it would have been smarter to sign up for Gerber product info via mail and e-mail. Then wait a few days and e-mail them and ask about the $500 certificate a friend told you about. They will mail you one in just a few days. Sure beats hitting your head against a wall for hours at a time......
