Would it just be possible to paint the calipers, leave the decals on (in any color you wish) and use a high temp clear coat?

 

Yes decals are good up to aprox 180deg F some claim they are good forever but I'm giving you #'s not personal experience.

The Clear Coat would help that out a lot probably indefinitely, but I’ve never heard or seen a high temp clear coat.
