Potential group buy--need feedback

I am looking at doing a potential group buy program Once a month starting in JAN.

In Jan the CAI is supposed to become avail. but at its present pricing I dont think I will ever sell one. So what I looking at is a group buy price which will be listed below. I am looking for some feed back on this. The pricing that is listed is the best price that I can do, so my proposed pricing will be as low as I will go.

MSRP: 884.10 Normal website pricing: 707.30 Group buy price 620.00 and that would include free UPS Ground within the US. For Outside the US frieght will vary depending on location.

For the group buy on this item to happen I will need at least 10 confirmed buyers.

I may not respond to every comment made on this because I am mainly just wanting to know what all of you think.

CAI = cold air intake. Bagman, are you talking about the new mazdaspeed intake? Even at 620, i think you will have a very tough time selling one. 620 for an intake is just too much. Its probably gonna give the same results as the other intakes that cost 1/2 its price.

Thats why I'm throwing this out here to find out the forum members thoughts.

Bagman,

As much as I would like an actual Mazda CAI, I just didn't see many people wanting to pay anything close to Mazda's msrp.

I applaud you for the Group Buy idea but it will still be tough to get people to buy into this product.

I myself, just ordered the RB intake just last week because of Mazda's pricing.

Good luck though, I can't wait to see one of these installed.

I would assume that the timing is fairly bad as well on Mazda's part. Most people who are on this forum have had their 8's for awhile and have already purchased setups for their cars. I can't imagine that a new person to the forum would jump to pay so much when there are cheaper options out there that have received feedback and debate. This is a new product that we know very little about. I for one would not sell my racing beat setup to try this new one that looks very similar to the AEM intake.

I know your looking for feedback, hope mine helped.

Wow, 600 for a CAI? For that price, it better be adding some mucho HP!! Let's hope MAZDA revise the MSRP so you can sell it cheaper Bagman!

That is the reason that the exhaust is going to be my first group buy item in Jan.

I wouldn't normally pay that much for a CAI. I guess that I would have to see more product info first.

WOW thats a lot for an intake. I bought my typhoon for 225, I don't think that you are gonna be able to sell those unless they provide a really big gain in hp.

Baggie, I'd delete this thread and start a new one called "Mazdaspeed CAI Group Buy??"

There are many here who purchase on the MS name alone.....you may have more interest if Mazdaspeed was listed in the title of the thread. Many forum members won't even be aware that this intake is coming. Throw some catalog pics in there.

All the best.
