i got my 8 about 2 months ago and have been testin out a 2nd car since then for fuel and commuting reasons. everything ive gotten into to test drive feels nothing like a 8 so i dont wanna buy it. anyone recommend something under $8,000

 

Are buying another car strictly for commuting? if so then $8000 is going to take a LONG time in fuel savings to break even.

 

Look for like a 90-93 Civic. You can probably find one for under $3k. My personal plan is to go motorcycle for commuting next summer.

 

hitchhike. It's free and you meet lots of interesting new people.. till one of them kills you and wears your buttocks as a meat-helmet.

 

settled with a 2003 civic w/75k on it nice little beater to run around in had the dealer throw in 4 hundred dollars in car toys credit all for $6800

OP - Get a bike. They rock. Im about to finish up my streetfighter CBR build, i cant wait, too bad summer is almost over. It gets 40+ mpg.

ahh get a bike ...find one salvaged, have a shop fix it up and get your licence ( my cousin did all this for about 500 bucks )

 

Yeah unless you buy a bike or a moped you're really not going to get your money back on an $8K commuter car. That's 2K gallons of fuel (oops on the math)you have to SAVE before you start saving money on gas @ $4/gal.
