To quote the great Jeremy Clarkston... that's busier than a bishops hat!

Not sure what i think about it yet. I'd like to see it in other colors.

Good. I just went for my first drive with it. It's a smaller diameter than stock so that will take a little getting used to. I really like the material. It's Delrin which is really hard plastic but has a really soft feeling finish -- almost velvety. Good shape too. Shifting feels very mechanical on the AFE short shifter.

I like it a lot but i had no idea my transmission could make that many different noises! The stock **** muffled those gears whizzing around pretty good but this one does not.

It has a striking resemblance to something else made out of hard plastic with a velvety finish...

As for the sound, I suspect that's just the heat from today catching up to you. Try again tomorrow morning and see if it's still making just as much noise. In general, when you do sustained aggressive driving (even a normal AutoX gets to this by the end of the day) the transmission heats up a lot and you end up able to hear all those extra noises. I first noticed it on one of Kris' drives but I could hear everything by this afternoon as well.

Really though, it's all about how you like driving with it. Now that I'm on the short shifter I'm considering changing mine... It's just not comfortable enough in my hand anymore.

Exactly. I loved the stock **** for a long time. Just over the past couple months it started pissing me off. I like symmetrical and smooth.

Note to Mazda: Not everything on an RX car needs to be in the shape of a rotor.
