Trucks Leaving Tacoma Yet?

Anybody seen any trucks leaving Tacoma loaded with our cars yet?

Any guesses which day they may be heading out?

I drove down there this afternoon after an appointment I had downtown. Two trucks were loading, but no RX-8s. Now I have a sneaking suspicion that we are waiting for the train to arrive in Woodhaven, MI. It takes 10 to 12 days to make the trip. The train left on 26 June. That puts the arrival window at 6 to 8 July. I have a feeling once they get there, they are going to let all of the ports release the cars. The first cars to go will be those that require no options, then those that require options as they are completed. Additionally, they have moved more RX-8s since yesterday. There were a bunch parked down by a big sawdust pile (next yard over), but now I can't see any of them. I think they have been moved closer to the building.

Went by the Port today, saw the red RX-8 right by the fence, and there are rows of RX-8 parked in there. Are they goin to ship them out soon?

Went by the Port again today, the RX-8s are still there. There's a truck loading 6s, MPVs, and Miatas, but no RX-8.

Strange, not one car seemed to have the appearance package? A fair percentage seemed to have ordered that. I couldn't make out one in the whole lot? I was hoping to at least see me car! :D

the tit one in this pic and in the last pic seem too have it see the side skirts where there is a shadowline under the door and the lower front valance to me looks body colored which would be part of the appearance package.

I'm squinting but I can't see it!!

The side skirts don't run the length of the doors, only the last third. All the cars seem to look the same to me. The nose on all the cars look the same too. Ah well, no big deal..

Any idea on how long it would take to get the cars loaded and off to the dealers?

I mean, the trucks probably wouldn't start loading till 7am or some other reasonable time, on whatever day they start, right? And they'd need to deliver to the dealership during business hours, but that's a pretty big window, since dealers are usually open well into the evening. And for many of us, the dealerships are easily within 45 minutes from the port gate to the dealer lot.

Just thinking that if the trucks aren't there today for loading, and they start loading them tomorrow, that we're probably not seeing anything at the dealers until monday... And thats only if they started tomorrow.

And the dealer will have to do inventory and inspection -- a couple hours, at least. My dealer indicated that if he gets the car in the first half of a day, he can have it ready in the afternoon. But if he doesn't see it until late afternoon then it'll probably not be ready until the next morning.

The rate this wait is going, though, I'm not confident that we'll see the cars anytime soon. Maybe I'm just frustrated, depressed, and sick of waiting...

I have made my final trip down to the Port of Tacoma today! I pass the task to whoever is now interested. One of the reasons I wanted the car this week was for RPNWs car corral at the Portland Historics. I just don't see that happening. As such, I have resolved myself to just waiting patiently. It sucks, but I can't keep torturing myself like this. At any rate, I did see three trucks down at the port. One was loaded, two were empty, but there were no RX-8s anywhere nearby. I did, however, see three people checking out the group of RX-8s that are pictured above. They were some sort of inspection team. They had clipboards and were walking around the cars. No less than 4 of the cars had their hoods open. Signing off....

Unhappy

Well, thanks for the effort anyway.

I guess we just need to concentrate on something else for a while to pass the time and then it will happen soon enough.:o
