I recently took a long trip that had me driving through Georgia. I saw the "Super Speeder" signs and didn't know what one was. I had the cruise control set at 85 most of the time. There is one local jurisdiction that I know that you don't drive more than 5 over. The rest are good for 10.

Superspeeder is the newest way to screw us.
An extra 200 dollars is tacked on to your fine for more than 75mph on a 2 lane road or 85 on a four lane road...
So if your on the interstate and doing 86 your average speeding ticket will cost you north of 400 dollars.
on another note though, the last time I got pulled over three times in an hour on my way to the Licensing office to get new tabs for my Alfa I was told Twice that it was because our Governor needs more money so they were told to start pulling people over for more things.
I also found it interesting that I have no front plate on the car either but all they issued a ticket for was no current tabs.

I saw the same article yesterday and I tend to believe that the speed cushion is indeed GONE.
States are struggling to make ends meet and must bring in elevated levels of revenue to support themselves so ticketing drivers is an easy way to accomplish that.
I know here in CA, tickets are being handed out at almost record levels as the state is facing a $20 billion deficit this year alone.
Hell, even I got my first ticket EVER two months ago.

I'm now shopping for a second radar detector to put in my DD. The 9500ix I have in the RX8 is worth every penny.
