Depends on whats more important to you really. Do you want more power or more sound?

The interceptor is pointless if your not going FI. The exhaust is pointless unless you're looking for noise. Spend on the suspension, or keep saving toward FI. If you are planning on going FI, wait. If cobb doesn't announce the Access Port for the RX8 at SSX, then you might consider one of the other ECU solutions.

Or you can get both for $1500, well kinda. Just get a RB flash and RB exhaust for that much money.

I wouldn't consider standalone pointless since the tune isn't that great on the rx8. Is it worth the price tag the interceptor carries? I don't think so at all. But it is definitely not pointless if you have a good tuner and some time.

True, but a good tuner should cost you nearly as much as your ECU, and I still have my fingers crossed that I'll be driving home from SSX with a Cobb AP plugged into my car.

...and if his car is like mine, he won't even get (much) noise.

Well, still no Access Port. I stand by my suggestion of suspension. If you really want to go piggy back, look at the e-manage. The exhaust is not going to net you any appreciable rwhp.

The Big 3 in this order: Handling - Braking - Power.

If I had it to do all over again, I would just slam it, tint it, subwoofer it, and get new rims.

Except, the brakes are WAY more powerful than the tires already. Granted, going wider and stickier should be on the game plan, but for the 8, I'd go handling, power, braking. We already stop SO much faster than most other cars, you have to be careful about emergency deceleration maneuvers as it is.

$1500 is not going to get you very far with mods for an rx-8. I'd get tires and then look at getting a spring/shock combo. If you want looks and sound then springs/shocks and exhaust.
