Race in September! (2009, Seattle area)
New for this month: Time-Speed-Distance rallies! I found out there’s a club that does these around here, no idea what registration is like, but I’ll update when I find out. Also, WTF, no Alfa events in September?!
I'll also try and keep up with who plans on attending what event, figure I'll update that once a day. If it's too much of a pain in the ***, I'll stop. Regardless of if I update the Members planning on attending lists, we can use this thread to organize meeting up to go to an event etc. as well. The Tacoma Mall Krispy Kreme has worked out pretty well for Bremerton based events. Southcenter Mall would work out better for Packwood events for those going *** early. Click the location link for directions to any of the sites. For PR, click the directions link on their site (it's in Java so I can't link straight to it).
Membership Requirements:
Pre-registration varies from Event to Event. Pre-Registration is always cheaper, sometimes required, but not always available more than 2 weeks before the event. Always check the link for a given event.
Remember to Bring:

Membership Requirements:
- Alfa Events: No Membership Required
- BEAC Events: Must be a Boeing Employee
- BSCC Events: Must be a BSCC Member [$20 Membership]
- Porsche Pacific Northwest Events: Schools - Porsche Club Sponsor or Membership in one of the following clubs: PCA, Alfa, Audi, BMWCCA, BSCC, Corvette, Mini, Viper, or PDC club member
- Proformance Racing School: Must be a client for all non-school events, going to a school makes you a client, or be a member of the Alfa or Porsche clubs.
- NWR SCCA Events: Membership Required [$10 Weekend memberships available on site, full memberships available online for $45 or $60, up to 3 weekend memberships can count towards a full one]
- SCCA Oregon Region Events: Membership Required [$10 Weekend memberships available on site, full time memberships must be Dual Region]
- WWSCC - No Membership Required (I think)
Pre-registration varies from Event to Event. Pre-Registration is always cheaper, sometimes required, but not always available more than 2 weeks before the event. Always check the link for a given event.
Remember to Bring:
- Oil - During the lapping days you can burn as much as a quart! Autocross days are less, but it's still worth topping off at the beginning of the event
- Sunblock - Especially for the autocross events where you'll spend half the time working the course
- Water - No matter what the event, it's going to be hot in your helmet and car
- Helmet (If you have one that meets the requirements) - All clubs require a helmet, some will lend you one in exchange for your license, others will charge you money to rent one. Helmet Requirements (always double check the club's listing!):
- AutoX - Snell Approved M2000 or higher
- Lapping - Snell Approved SA2005 or higher
- Cash - At almost all Bremerton events, the local Lions Club will show up and serve cheap burgers, hot dogs and Philly Cheese Steaks but they're cash only
- Your Checkbook - All autocross events that involve timing equipment have a rule: If you car touches the timing equipment, it's a $100 fine payable on the spot. You can sometimes run and pick up money from an ATM down the street but it's easier if you have your checkbook handy.
- Don't be intimidated by this, in reality, it's very rare. The club doesn't WANT this to happen, so they setup the course to try and prevent it from happening
- Gas
- AutoX - 1/2 tank or more
- AutoX Practice - Full tank
- School - Full Tank
- Lapping - Full Tank

Wow, good info.
September 3rd there is a Porsche lapping day. You also might want to note that you don't necessarily have to belong to the Porsche club. Any of these clubs qualify: PCA, Alfa, Audi, BMWCCA, Corvette, Mini, Viper, or PDC club member.

Well, I changed my plans about going home, so I'm definitely going to the two BSCC events over Labor Day weekend. I'm pretty tempted to try and hit the Porsche club AutoX as well... not sure how much it costs though.

Well, I signed up to volunteer on Saturday the 5th... nothing particularly compelling at bumpershoot this year :-/ I was pretty stoked to see Offspring last year, I'll probably do all the events that weekend.

Updated the link for the September 6th Practice. BSCC is asking for pre-registration for it and capping at 75 people (which is pretty big for a practice... but it IS a Saturday).

So i am debating over my fist track day with the 8. I would like to attend the Skills Day on the 5th or the BSCC Practice Day.
I would like to get the most track time for my buck and Sunday I have more time available, so i think i would prefer the event on the 6th. Just wanted to see what others opinions were on the event and which might be recomended for a 1st timer?

Hey Nick, with all this talk about my first track day i figured i check to see what the weather is suppose to be like. Right now they are predicting rain, but you know that can change 10 times before Sat. If it does look like rain do they cancel it or postpone it?

Nope, it's always on! Rain just means your tires will last longer
Yah, looks like they're saying a 70% chance of rain on Saturday... By the way, the registration for Saturday likely closes tomorrow night. With that in mind, VHT SUCKS in the rain so Sunday is certainly going to be faster than Saturday.

It's also supposed to be raining all day Sunday and it's going to take place at the North end of the runway, not the South like normal, so it'll be around the VHT. I'm thinking I'll skip it.
