October Drive - Leavenworth

All right, obviously being overly creative with the thread title bit me in the @$$. After talking with some of the folks here, we've settled on making a run to Leavenworth to see the leaves changing color. Since their already started, and we're starting to get into the holidays, I suggest we move it up another week, and make the run on the 15th. Any later and we can count on the weather being TERRIBLE and the leaves will probably be gone. It's already going to be cold enough up there that I really don't feal like griling. I'll make some calls and see if I can find a resteraunt of some sort that'll offer a group discount.

I think we should meet around 9:30 at Lewis Street Park http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&z=16...,0.020127&om=1 in Monroe, leaving around 10:00. This is a pretty long run, but definately well worth it. I'll have more details shortly (there're a few great roads that parallel Hwy 2 that I'd like to include).

It's on my calendar, thanks Kristopher!

Here's when Oktoberfest is going on... It might be a little more crowded on the roads in and out of Leavenworth, but it could be fun to stop in town and eat and walk around a little.

1st Weekend........ September 29 - 30, 2006
2nd Weekend....... October 6 - 7, 2006
3rd Weekend........ October 13 - 14, 2006

Edit: My crappy typing skills today (no brain left after 4-day class)

The wife should be in town so let me see if we can swing it. With any luck we may be house hunting.

I'll be at the track on the 14th - not sure if I'll feel up to a long-**** drive the next day; but this'd be a GREAT trip...wish I could go.

Definately join us. BTW, I'll be posting the text of the route this evening. I tried last night, but the d@$%ed filters at my apartement complex wouldn't let the NW section load. Grrrrrr! I used to manage a Bio-Med IT dept, and the apartment computers are more restrictive than the FDA regulated systems I managed! Oh well, at leas the kids are safe, right?

This is a great idea. I've written this down in my calendar. It's been way too long since I've been to Leavenworth!

Yeah, a Friday the 13th run would be fun, but most of us work weekdays.

fishnhard, too bad, it would be great to drive with you again. We'll be doing stuff all winter long, so there'll be plenty more opportunities.

TheBri, do join us. the more the merrier.

So, here's the list of cars, let me know how many people will be in your car so I can try to make reservations for lunch.

All right! That's it! We're sending to Vito and Lui to talk some sense into your boss, Ryan. Unless it's the other boss, then I guess we'll have to be content.

So we're still at maybe 8 cars:
1. kristopher_d (1)
2. 05TiGr8Lady
3. shanv74 (2)
4. dmp?
5. pfbaseball
6. TheBri
7. CorranFox (verbal)
8. Marquis (verbal) (3)

Bummer Ryan... I know the weekends don't usually work out for you. Maybe next time...

Kristopher - Looks like it'll only be me in my 8.

Wish I could go but I'll be in Portland this weekend working at the Gymkhanna drifting event. I'll make the next run though
