Hello my fellow Washingtonians!

Thanks for the concern. Yes we were fine. Massive tornado is how i would describe it as well

We're about to go into another three days of possible tornado weather. Fun stuff.

I'll be in WA in one week for a wedding. Can't wait to be back i the homeland! I'll be crunched for time but let me know if there are any events i should show up to or anything. I'd love to see you all again.

Make sure you paint a couple inches into the barrel so there is no edge. If not then when they mount tires the paint could chip.

Alright, who wants to show this southerner around? I received my official start date and will be relocating to the Auburn area for work. So if you see a black 8 with NC plates in a few weeks. It's probably me. Any house hunting advice would be nice too. Thinking Federal Way or Kent.

Have any of you guys had fuel cutoff issues before? I've had 3 instances where the engine cuts off as if Traction Control was on during hard corners, but traction control was disabled. Yesterday my fuel level was less than 1/4 tank, but the other two incidences I had 1/4 - 1/2 tank.

It only happened during 90 degree turns in 2nd gear. Rev would go up to 6k then cut down to 3k. Throttle was WOT during the cutoff. I'd backoff the throttle and the engine will rev up like normal. Any ideas?

I've read about that on the track with low fuel. What was your oil level?

Aside from the 1/2 bit, it sounds like fuel starvation.

The tank is a saddle. The pump draws from the left hand tank, the return from the engine is in the RHT. The return feeds a siphon to keep the tanks about balanced. Make the right kind of turn and you can slosh the fuel around and break the siphon. This causes air bubbles in the fuel lines which feels (and effectively is) the same as an ECU (TCS or rev limit) cut off.

Anyhow, you can either add a second pump or put more gas in the tank and live with it. So far, I've chosen the 2nd approach. It's not really a big deal unless your really at the limit (could cause a spin) or have a really tuned car (going lean with a turbo can blow the engine).

I run into this if I've got around a 1/4 tank going around T9 at pacific. My theory is T8 drains the LHT and T9 splashes the last little bit from the depression where the pump sits. No real way to test it that I know of.

Left hand turn....likely fuel issues

Right hand turn likely something else is going on.

I have done about 20 different fuel mods and can tell you what works (and wont) ...so call me and we can chat if you want

My oil level is always topped off. Fuel, not so much :-)

2 of the incidences it was left hand turns. THe other day was a right hand turn.

I'll just try to keep a habit of keeping the tank full and yes, when the fuel cutoff in the corner I nearly lost control.

Am I right in thinking much short of a second pump isn't quite worth the effort?

If you are getting fuel cut on both left and right turns you might want to replace your pump. Usually the right turns are OK from the slosh issue and you might just have a failing pump. It is easy to add a second pump...and NA that should work decently well if you keep it above 1/4 tank

I almost spun from this going up the hill after turn 2 at PRI....not a nice feeling

Thanks Dan :-) I've found some good threads to read now. I'll look into the fuel pump some more.

damn, and you're running some wide tires too. May I ask which coilovers you're using on your car?

It was from the fuel cut

I am so happy that problem is gone
