Engine update:

Just got off the phone with the dealership and the tech is out driving my car. He is doing some form of testing that requires him to drive the car for 45 minutes. I should hear back around 5 PM what direction they are going. I'm anxious to hear the results of the compression check as well. I want my car back but only if the engine is healthy.

I do not recall if it was a test for the new PCM or some other test about my motor. I know there are tests like this for new parts or testing though.

He may be making sure your O2 sensors and various emissions sensors are set. They sometimes require a specific drive cycle. Ask me how I know.

I'm originally from Russia and Chicago...The weather here is relatively delightful compared to those places :-)

Now, for some reason, summers are looking way better in Russia than they are here...Unfair.

you could always do contract work for navy, but not be part of the branch.

yeah haha. his name is chris and he lived down south in Steilacoom until last winter when he moved to OK for work. he's really not a creepy stalker at all. quite the opposite actually.

you can use silicone between the gasket and the light. it's a 5 min job if you make sure to get all the water out of the taillight when you do it.

^^yeah, i just did mine this last weekend. take the off, dry them out, pull off the foamy liner thing, wash it, glue it back on with silicone sealant, fortify the foamy liner with more silicone spray, let dry and put them back on. they survived this last patch of rain... hope it stays that way!
