If we are meeting everyone at Potlatch at 10am, and it takes 2 hours to get there, we need to leave Renton at 8am.

Let's meet at the East Valley Regal Cinemas parking lot between 7:30 and 7:45, we leave for Potlatch at 8am sharp. (If you want to get breakfast to eat on the way, there is a Burger King in that parking lot also)

Address: 3751 East Valley Road, Renton (across the street from Younker Nissan)

It's only an hour and a half from the Cincemas in Renton, let's plan on leaving there at 8:30 sharp. I like my mornings, but not quite that much.

Is anyone from the southend going? If so, do you want us to swing by Tacoma?

If not, we'll be meeting at the East Valley cinemas around 8, leaving at 8:30.

I'm not going to be there afterall... my dog is sick. He was throwing up during the night and I don't want to leave him alone today. Sorry guys!

(Aaaargh... I was hoping to test my new tires too...)

It was great seeing a couple new faces this month, and chatting with some regulars. Sorry some of you couldn't make it, but life happens, no?

I know I enjoyed the route, but boy was it coming down. There were definitely a couple places where the water overwhelmed even my wonderful tires. Just a bit, but still exciting. At one point we drove into a squall that left me driving on intuition alone for a few seconds. We missed Hamma Hamma Rd (I think we drove by it while the rain made the road side difficult to see, let alone the side roads). We definitely need to try that one in the dry some time.

The A&W was a bit of a disappointment. I was expecting an A&W drive-in, not a gas station that decided to pay the licensing fees to put generic fast-food burgers in A&W wrappers, and pour poorly mixed Root Bear into paper cups. What ever happened to good, fresh burgers and frosty mugs? We'll finish up next months drive with the answer to that one.

Glad to hear you guys made it back safe and sound. Bummer about all the rain and the lack of drive-in food!

So.... who all made it? Did you take the ferry back?
And will there be pics???

corvus13, proxi, and I made the drive.

We all took some pics at the A&W, but nothing along the way (I think we've all seen rain any how). It really was to nasty to even try to admire the scenery. Ryan and Volney showed up at the theater to chat for a bit before proxi and I rolled on to Potlatch.

I actually thing the mud-slide induced detour introduced us to some a couple pretty nice stretches of road, so we'll count that as a plus.

Regardless of the weather and the A&W experience, I still enjoyed the drive. It was definitely fun trying to keep up with Kristopher and Corvus. Going through all those S-turns close to 70mph (in the rain! ) was freakin' exciting. Damn! That really made me love the RX-8 more! Seeing our three 8's rolling through those turns at those speed, in wet road, was really surreal for me. Thanks, guys! Kristopher is the man! Looking forward to our next run and hopefully we can get more people.

Since it was mostly raining, I was only able to take a few pics after the run.

Red = Kristopher; Gray = Proxi; Black = Corvus

Corvus has a really cool tint job with a custom graphic at the back window. Really impressive.

Thanks for the pics Proxi!! Nice color BTW

LOL... yes, Kristopher is definitely a wild one in the twisties, and he does a great job of picking our routes! I'm sorry I missed this one. I was hoping to try out my new Kumho Ecsta ASX's in the wet twisties. Around here they've been great, but one of our crazy runs would be the extreme test!

Glad you were able to make it Proxi. If you ever see another Ti Grey 8 out in the Mill Creek area... whoops, there are at least 3 of us out in that area besides you... Me, Revlis, and Blakew15.

Corvus13 is Mike, right? The friend of Kristopher's who got the black 8 back in August? That's quite the window...

Sorry I didn't get to see you guys this time. My dog was ok during the day... no more throwing up and he slept most of the time. He's 12 now, so I worry about him. He had some trouble walking today though. (he's a big black lab)

Mike is CorranFox, who, unfortunately had to work again.

This drive was in corvus13's neck of the woods.

Total of 3 made it for the drive, plus a couple extras for BS in Renton.

If we plan far enough in advance and pick a good day in Spring when the weather is better, we should have better attendance (last April was our first northender meet on April 23rd). This time of the year is tricky.

April, June, July and August were pretty high turnout meets - at least for the "northenders" - and mostly 8's show up. I think the southenders have a more diverse group, and possibly a larger turnout.

Maybe we should just pick one day a month and publish a "lookahead" schedule that people can plan around? Like one Sunday each month between now and May, and assess how it's going then?

mantiszx6r - where are you located?

Im free today, I'm planning to head out at Best Buy in South Center later on today around 1:30-2:00 PM to get the new "Game" cd. I guess if you wanna meet up there we can, some lights wont hurt maybe we can look together. I also drive a BB rx-8 and live in Renton so not far from you.

Gear of War is the devil and should be avoided at all cost... :D

A friend of mine brought it over to a house party this last weekend. Several of us geeked out, drank beers, and played that damn game for hours. It's a damn miracle that I'm not still sitting there playing it. Best game of the year if you ask me. Of course I still haven't bought Neverwinter Nights II yet.
