Next Seattle area track day?

I'm itching to drive fast.

So when's the next Seattle area open track day? The BMWCCA has an event @ Pacific Raceways on the 18th, but registration is already closed. They have another one on March 18th, which I am very tempted to do, but you need to join the BMWCCA at $40 to do it. At least I'd get parts discounts when my wife's car breaks. It would be fun to munch on the bumper of an M3 in the corners and then watch him pull on me in the straight as well

Anyone know any other events coming up soon? I've had my RX8 for 6 weeks now and it's time to find out what she can do. Plus I need to go back to PR and spit on the guard wall that broke my wrist lat time I was there (on a bike).

Here's a comprehensive list of PNW motorsports events.

I've done perhaps 20 track days at PR and Portland in the last 1-1/2 years, and never seen an RX-8 out there. It would be nice.

If anyone on the forum here is planning on heading out to a track day or something, they should post it up so everyone can decide if they want to meet up.

I know I'm dying to get back into autocrossing, and I'd love to try a track day sometime, but I'd like to go with someone that I at least have passing familiarity with...you know?

Anyway, thanks for the link .

I go to many of the local autocrosses. For instance, I was at yesterday's Slush 2 event in Bremerton, where there actually were two RX-8s (well, one of them was run by the Goeke's, slumming it with us Seattleites). It's easy to get help at these autocrosses, and our region is full of very experienced, very skilled and very pleasant folks. I'm just starting my second year at it, and the events are fun. The next one is February 26th at Bremerton; I'll almost certainly go.

I also go to about a track event a month, or a bit more. I tend to go to the Proformance events, since I get more driving in at those than at most club events. I was at the Proformance day last Tuesday at PR. You also might consider the schools in Spokane run in March, June and October by the Inland Empire BMW Club . Nice track, and well-run school, with good instructors, and well-planned run groups.

I'll try to post when I'm going to an event. I don't drive our RX-8 at track and autocross events, since I don't fit in it with a helmet on.

I'm planning on heading down to the March 24th BMW club track day at PIR and I'm currently in touch with a member of the staff at Pacific to try and organize a Mazda track day some time this spring.
