New owner of a RX8 GT
Hi I just recently purchased a RX8 and this is my first rotary. I read the owners manual and its stating that the car takes 5W20 non synthetic. Is that too thin? I also searched the forums and owners manual out of the U.S uses 5W30 non syn. Also, oil weight you are running in WA?
Also, are there monthly RX8 meets in the PNW?
Thanks
Paul
Here is a pic of my ride

Titanium Grey? Awesome if so!
I have a preorder 09/03 GT that has been serviced at the dealer all it's life. They used Motorcraft 5W20 Semi Synthetic - LOL
I'm in the process of dropping in my street ported motor next month, and it will get nothing but Idemitsu 20W50 Full Synthetic since I will be running the Sohn adapter for the OMP using Idemitsu premix.
There are lots of threads dealing with proper oil...

You'll want to red line at least once a day when you drive it. Don't drive it like a granny, that's bad for the engine. If you didn't know, the engine injects oil into the engine, so check your oil every fill up untill you figure out how much oil it uses(the harder you drive the more oil it injects, keep that in mind.)
Congrats on the car. I've never had more fun in a car than in my 8!!!
There are weekly Thursday meets at Dick's on 45th in Seattle (when it gets warmer) and everyonce in a while when it's cold. It'll be posted.
There are also a lot of autox and track days we go to. Welcome to the club!

I run 10W30 in my 05 Titanium Gray. A couple thing to note though. I live on the Eastern side of Washington so the summers are hotter and I park my car in October and don't get it out until April so it is never driven in cold weather.
Not a reccomendation just what I choose to run.
Congratulation on your new car!! Welcome to the addiction.
