New...

So I'm probably going to get flamed right off the boards for this, but....oh well.

I joined about a year ago and posted that I would be a proud owner of an 8. Well I'm not a proud owner of an 8, but I am of a Speed 3. *winces*

Anyway...I love the 8s, it was my first choice, but with the idea of a family in the future, kinda needed something with a little more of a backseat and "cargo room".

I'm a lurker..I like this board, and I like the NW section because of how involved you guys seem to be with events and whatnot. So yeah...I just wanted to say Hi.

Okay....flame away.

I like the MS3, it's a sporty lil' car. Plus I like the hatchback look. Congrats

Thanks!

I never had an RX-8. I was going to get one, but realized that I needed something that would allow me to haul stuff around when the need be. But yet still had some get up and go. Test drove the Speed and fell immediately in love.

You people and your sensible cars. My 8 is the most practical vehicle I ever plan on owning. When I need a P/U or SUV, I'll rent or borrow one. Well, I might get an SSR and Cayane at some point, but those aren't exactly practical either.

You do realize that I haul 2 grills and camera gear in the trunk, and there are several folks who bring the entire family along for monthly drives? I'm sure you could make a decent trade and get an 8.

j/k.

Since you like hanging out with us, you should come on a monthly drive - it's open to more than 8's, in fact we had Shaun's 3 with us last Sunday.

Thanks for the comments....I think.

And yeah...at least I still got a Mazda. And there's no way I'd trade the MS3 in for anything at this point. I'm too in love with that car. She's a bad addiction/habit.

Hmm...I might join in on some of your meets and drives, very tempting.

Just do what i did, Make the other half drive the CX9 and ill get to keep my 8 =D

Cargo room, done, family room, heck more than done, the thing has like 7 seating capacity. Heck i heard even the cx-7 was sporty, cept my wife wanted the 3rd row seating, so i couldnt get her in that.

Good point. But I don't think my husband would enjoy driving around an SUV, he seems to be attached to his Charger R/T like I am to my Mazda lol. Of course neither one of us wants to haul anything with our cars....so I guess my excuse is a mute one. Maybe I just got too attached to the Speed when I test drove it, suddenly there was no other car I wanted. I'm sure you guys felt the same with your 8s.

A Dodge Charger? Ouch. My friend let me drive his when he owned one ('05 model)...that thing's a land yacht lol Maybe it's just me, I prefer small highly manuverable cars.

It's actually a pretty nice car. But just too big for me. I like my cars small...or small-ish. It's not stock, he has Borla exhaust, and a CAI, with headers to come. It sounds very aggressive. Besides it being a tank, it actually looks pretty good too, at least his does lol. But I'd drive my MS3 over the R/T anyday.

I have to agree with kristopher d on this one, the RX-8 is damn practical. It fits what I want out of a car 98% of the time (how the car drives is a significant percentage), the last 2% I can rent or possibly even buy a beater stuff hauler.

Stack the RX-8 up against a 350z or a S2000 and it's like a no brainer. It's the cheapest of the three for the options you get, you get a real trunk, 4 doors, and 4 seats. It's also arguably the most fun to drive. Well... the S2000 should have the edge here, but it's hardly percievable on a daily basis and the RX-8 is more comfortable (again what do you use your car for 98% of the time).

I reaaaallly like the 3, but as soon as i sat in it, it felt like a hatchback. I already have a hatchback with about the same power to weight ratio that hauls all kinds of stuff... hard to justify getting another.

I certainly wasn't bashing the choice, just making you admit the truth. You like the 3 and went with it. If they'd build an RX-3 I'd seriously consider it. Actually, my next car will likely bring me back to pistons and lots of cubes.
