That is something I took into account as well. I can only afford to go to one of them and would rather go to Vegas. There is a drive, casinos and just more hanging out with people. Plus I went to Jr High and High School there and have lots of friends and some family. Not sure I will have time to see any of them though. Not to mention there will be a lot of bad *** 8s to check out!

so what day would we be leaving?? this may be my final even i make it to with the WA crew.. i get out of the navy june 18th to head home. that would be a awesome trip on my way home!!! maybe wear the uniform one last time haha. i fits the 18th im in for sure

that depends on when you guys are leaving WA / OR
CA caravan rolls out to Vegas quite early friday morning.
If you guys are coming down the 5 the whole way, the only place I can see that would make sense would be Barstow. I should be there by around 8:30 am. We typically top off the tanks, take a quick stretch and then drive straight to Vegas.

We need to be in Barstow (unless that changes) by 8am on Friday morning, the 18th. From what I remember, when I googled the route, I think it said 12-13hrs from my area (Renton, WA). I'm sure that doesn't include time to eat/gas up, etc. David - When/where should I/we plan on meeting you in OR?

i would enjoy a caravan down there. make the drive more fun just let me know when we need to leave by so i can make sure i tell the navy peace out by then haha

This will be the weekend that my BN will be 100% back from Iraq. I don't know if they'd give us a 5 day weekend like last deployment upon their return, but I'll keep up to date on this.

That's pretty much what I was thinking too... BUT... I might head back to San Diego and visit some friends, then go back up the coast over the next week.

More people keep quitting work (damn outsourcing 
) which may keep me in the office. But I have my time scheduled off at work so we will see if they ask me to cancel. I will know for certain in May. There are lots of places we can meet off of I-5. If it is in the morning then I can pick a Starbucks or something like that in Beaverton, which is 15 miles or so South of Portland.

Friday evening party: When we leave the In & Out burger, we will caravan to "Las Vegas Mini Gran Prix (outdoor track) where we can ride the carts by the hour ($18.00 per hour) and a no host bar at Chili's restaurant bar.
Saturday June 19th at 10am we will meet at the In & Out Burger parking lot on West Sahara for a drive in the Las Vegas area. The drive is about two and one half hours in length, will cover 125 miles and will end at a local Hotel for lunch. There will be a several hour break for rest, recreation and sight seeing. The party group (all that wish to attend) will meet at the Hoffbrahause for beer, food and friendship from 7pm until ?
This years drive will be close in to Las Vegas and will be on all paved roads (unless the state or county do their thing again this year), some narrow roads and some twisty roads and some freeway. There will be vehicles within the group to offer assistance if you are in need.
The weather will again this year be very warm but not blazing hot (yet). Be sure you carry drinking water, a hat, vehicle water and oil. All places that we get together will be at places that have food so those that are still under drinking age will be welcome.
