Mazda Grand Prix of Portland
Join us July 25-27, 2008 at Portland International Raceway. The demise of Champ Car doesn't mean that the racing has to stop! With Mazda North America, we have lined up an incredible weekend of racing. A Star Mazda presented by Goodyear doubleheader, the Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup (yes, there will be Playmate autograph sessions!), Formula Drift, the VW Jetta TDI Cup, motorcycle road racing, drag racing, time attack, Spec Miata, and more!
This will be "The Mosh Pit of Motorsports!" Tickets are $15 per person (no catch, no gimmicks, no sneaky upgrades) with the entire track and every grandstand being General Admission.
We have also just completed a deal with the Oregon Brewers Festival! We will have an extension of the festival on site throughout the weekend. You can sit trackside with incredible views of the racing while sampling some of the greatest microbrews available. Entry to the Oregon Brewers Festival area is free with your race ticket. If you're coming from the waterfront portion of the festival, just show us your Oregon Brewers Festival wristband and we'll give you $5 off of your race ticket (Don't forget that MAX runs virtually door to door from the waterfront to PIR!).
Car Clubs are welcome - you will have exclusive parking near the main straight in a sectioned off area. Your membership gives you a free parking pass, and the charge is only $10 per person for club members. No, really - there's no catch! Please PM or email me for registration information.
If a single day of fierce racing, sunshine, Playmates, and microbrews isn't enough, we have RV parking, as well!
Our goal is to have some fun again. We are priding ourselves that this may well be the first ego-free weekend in the history of motorsports! We want to reintroduce the fans to everything that is great about the sport and Portland International Raceway. We want to remind you why you fell in love with cars in the first place. We can't think of a better place to be on July 25-27.
I'll post more as tickets go on sale. Please throw your questions my way - I'll be happy to help! We'll see you there!

I'm going; I'll be racing in the Spec Miata races. People are coming up from California to race in the SM races; we should have a large field, and great fun. And the whole weekend should be fun to watch.
