Just Purchased '04 RX-8

Just bought an '04 Velocity Red RX-8 6 speed with 36K on it. I have an MX-5 that I rallywith my son. The 8 my wife will use most of the time but hopefully I can pry it away long enough to attend some events. Will check the tips and FAQ to see what's up before I hit anyone up with questions. Wish me luck with our new 8 and hope to meet some of you along the way!

Thanks to everyone for the welcome. As for the rallying it's local road rallies that run one Friday a month with a few weekend rallies thrown in. They are time speed distance rallies but on back roads that run into the night. You have to reach your checkpoints at certain times which can get a little difficult. Sometimes you have to be creative in your driving to accomplish this, especially when it's a gravel road rally or a lot of twisty roads. If you are interested in trying one let me know and I'll post the info.

^ I'm interested in the rallies as long as they stay on the road, I'm not interested in going 4 wheeling in the 8

Next month I'll be getting fridays off for about the next 3 months. Pre-Thanks for posting the info and congrats on the 8

You can go to this site www.nwrally.com and click on events. It will list the Friday nighter events and also the weekend events. The Northwest Rally Club is a governing body for several local rally clubs. I belong to the Puget Sound Rally Club. They are asphalt roads but back roads on the Friday Nighters. The weekend ones are asphalt sometimes and gravel or sand ones sometimes. It may seem easy to keep an average speed maintained but belive me it's not, especially when you are dealing with corners, sliding on road conditions, traffic, mistakes in understanding the route instructions. Having a good navigator really helps. Allkinds of vehicles participate from Miatas to RX-8s to STis to 70s Cadillacs and pick up trucks. Find a partner and give it a try. Best!
