Just got my car back from the 30k service...

Expensive ugh, but at least University Mazda was awesome enough to do the Engine Flood TSB, so I got new battery, starter that sounds like its spinning hekkka fast, and new leading sparkplugs... WHICH...saved me from buying a full set for the 30k service... they rock!

Oh and my car? to be determined but the notchiness I had shifting to 2nd? gone... shifts like hot buttah! Weird they stated my rear tires also were in the yellow range... (green being 50% or more, yellow 20%-50% and red being less that 20%... odd?

I see you've gotten no love on this post to date so here ya go...

One question though really. Your Tires, at 30k, are those still the original OEM buns?

That seems like really darn good milage.

Also I have some questions regarding the revi intake, and RB exhaust, I gotta go for a ride in your whip.

I'll buy the chow, but I am really looking into exhausts and intakes and the decision right now is between racing Beat and the New "Sport" Mazdaspeed. Problem is I haven't heard either one and I gotta hear before I buy. Would suck to get an exhaust that is TOO loud, I am just looking for a little more. Same with the intake, not looking for power so much as a little more volume in the RX-8 soundtrack.

Yep original tires.. lol..

Im leaning toward the MS sport exhaust (the 2nd version they have out)

If you search someone actually has clips compiled of most of the exhaust sounds however nothing matches "human ear" quality so its still hard to gauge.

That is some pretty damned good tire wear. I am used to replacing tires on my bike at about 2200miles on the rear, 4800 on the front so to hear that our RX tires can make it to 30K makes me real happy.

How do you like the Racing Beat Exhaust? Does it sound ya know "Good?" I am all about the New MazdaSpeed as well but again, I haven't heard it.

I keep thinking the MazdaSpeed Wing, The New Exhaust, New Wheels, and I'll just about have the RX where I want it.

Sorry to hassle you with exhaust questions, I have listened to a bunch of them online and it really doesn't help that much, not a lot of professional recordings being done and that makes it real hard to get an Idea...

Not sure havent really met anyone yet with any aftermarket stuff...

as far as mods, im sure my list is huge just like any car I own... I like the mazda speed wing but decided that IMHO the trunk lip looks nicer on my car, and will replace my Nissan spoiler asap with it...

http://evo-r.net/product/RX-8/CFS/REAR_LIP.htm

150 bux isnt bad (especially looking at MS one for 900), just have to see how much it costs the body shop to paint it, oh and plug the holes from the last one and paint the rear trunk...

Quoted off my website:

Aftermarket Stereo/NAV or OEM Stereo w/ Alpine Hub
New Speakers Front/Rear
Sub's and Amps
Aftermarket Alarm
Aftermarket Wheels/Tires
Mazdaspeed Bodykit
Trunklip Spoiler
Exhaust (Mazdaspeed Sport)
Intake
Coilovers or Springs/shocks
Performance Sways
Strut tower Brace
Shock tower Brace
Interior Night lights
Brake upgrade w/ SS brakeline
....Questionables....
seat swap? Leather or Race Buckets?
Rearseat LCD in Center Console?
OEM Push Button Start?
Forced Induction of some kind or 20b engine swap?

It's a long long expensive list as well as very vauge, but as with any vehicle it begins this way =)

It went away, about the same 90%... Im assuming that Synthetic will just last longer than what the dealer uses...

btw, I put in redline at about 5000 miles on my car. At 29000 miles, I replaced it with royal purple. Both are similar in feel, but royal purple works a lot better when the transmission is cold. Smooth like it's already warmed up.

I bought royal purple, ATF brake fluid, new diff and transmission washers, and had diff/trann/coolant/brake fluids swapped out. Cost me $200 including fluids. I didn't go to the dealership since they were wanting $130 just for coolant swap, with similar numbers for brake.

Since it will have to be painted, Im going to see if the bodyshop will take care of the holes for me.

Its funny how they did the battery/starter upgrade for you but refused to do it for me.

I personally thought UMazda sucked. After all the good things I heard abt them, I'd give them at most a D-.

I told them to update the flash and they forgot to do that after the oil change. The mechanic then later realised he forgot and came back to bring the car back in to check and then told me yeah the flash was the latest.

I took the car to LeeJohnson and they said it wasnt and had to update the flash.

F*ing liars at UMazda.
