I have have three Rx car. my first one was an Rx7 86 wish i drove up to 110,000 mile with no problem from the engine at all. after that I Got a use Rx7 for 25,000 which I had until 59,000 mile, with no problem at all. now with my Rx 8, which I got at 23,000 mile use. I got a new engine at 48,000 mile. so my question is who has had the longest miles engine in there car with on problem. original or after a swap. am at 59,000 with my second witch but s me at;
48,000 0n the original
11,000 on the second one

 

Mike got quite a lot on his first engine... I'm at 31k on my first, Brad is around 60 on his first.

 

87,000 miles on my OE engine, and it was still running when I pulled it out myself.

 

I'm almost at 70,000 miles on my original engine.

 

My first engine and PCM died at 52K. Never missed an oil change and premixed from 19k on.

 

60,000 miles on original engine and counting , use royal purple for 10,000 , then castrol gtx 5w30, 10w30 ,now 10w40, never premix

 

I met ELF in Las Vegas for the WHiV Meet and he told me he has 180,000 miles on original engine.
After break in he started using Royal Purple to present. He says he puts about 200+ miles per day and tracks it too.
It will be interesting to see what things look like once he has to tear it down.

 

did any of the engines that failed use synthetic oil (besides Royal Purple?)
