Corner Work SCCA NWR Double National Races at PR this weekend
Got this forwarded today. If I wasn't busy all weekend I'd probably go do this:
These guys are VERY fast and it should be really interesting to watch. The Bing 911 GT3 Cup car will be there... so I might still try and show up for part of Saturday and say hi, we'll see.

If you are not an SCCA member we will issue a weekend membership. You can just sho up or register as a worker on motorsportreg.com. Worker meeting is at 8:00 every morning on the tower side of turn 9. People helping with track setup as I mentioned in an earlier message are meeting at turn 10 between 7:00 and 7:15 Sturday and Sunday. If you want to work registration or driver services or timing contact Sherri at sherri.masterson@gmail.com or see her at registration at the track which opens at 7:00 each morning.
Thanks

Sent 2 mails, got one response so far:
Re credits for DE days, note that SCCA doesn't do DE/track days, just full race, which requires race license, and a full race tech inspection that very few street cars would meet (roll cage, fire system, FIA or SFI seat and harnesses, etc.)
So not really something they could offer.
On the other hand, since it's true racing, it's a LOT more interesting than corner working at a DE day, as you're seeing cars go head to head constantly, and the level of driving is significantly better than at the DE days, so you're likely to learn a fair bit watching. Esp. for a National weekend like this one, where you need an SCCA National race license, cars prepped to National standards (many cars that run SCCA Regional events are not able to run National events, etc.) There is one (of the 7) grids that is a Regional catch-all, so virtually all local SCCA racers are able to drive.

Got an answer from the chief of workers, who also happens to work at MS:
At this time all we can offer is lunch, post race beverages and sometimes dinner. This Sunday the stewards are grilling steak for the workers.
We have been talking over plans to offer regular workers free entries into HPDE events but have not found a way to make it work yet.
