Our Speed Tax Collectors don't have portable smog testers, so the only trouble you're going to have will be the emissions testing, when it comes due. Just keep the cat around for that purpose.

No cat here, and no problems yet. I had an acquaintance back in HS that got a ticket for "no visible catalytic converter" because he has a straight pipe and the officer visually inspected the car. That's rare, though, but possible. But I've had no cat on my rx8 for almost a year now, and had no cat on my old rx7 for over 2 years without any issues.

Later in the year I'm planning a custom Exhaust system with an electrically actuated cut-out ahead of the cat and a collector behind it. That way when I'm just commuting I can be nice to the environment, but when it comes time to play, I'll push a button and bypass the cat.

Okay Matt, you're either in hock to these guys up to your eyeballs, or on commission. Honestly though, we get it, you like World One Performance, and we are all honestly happy for you. At the same time, we could do with a little less advertising, please. I'm absolutely certain you can participate in the conversation without waving that particular flag in every post. Thanks. Not trying to be a jerk, just asking to have the hammer stop colliding with my skull.

The only thing I get from World one is a free sticker. I like most have had very bad experiences from fly by the night shops or getting raped by the dealer's. I am just trying to pass on what I feel is a great honest shop. I feel we are a select group of people that decide to drive RX8 and should stick together trying to help each other out. I have had countless people ask me on several of my imports on where I get work done at and these people have always made time/research in my personal goals for my cars. They are purist and love the import tuner scene and for that I will vouch for them "FREE AT COST" to keep our hobby live and well.

But are you still able to get your car inspected with it like that? In other words, is the CEL always on because of the missing Cat?
