SR20 Drift Build
#276
Sorry I ever started, should have slapped on a set of wheels and coilovers LoL
I would love to go rotary but its just not a reality living in Ireland.
I learned by getting stuck in, its just a chase of seeing what works and what doesn't, the less filler the better, stick to fibreglass as much as possible, less cracking and reinforce where possible like when you join plastic to fibreglass and so on, use the best bonding agents available like my trunk frankenstein yokie LoL There are always tutorials on youtube too if you feel a bit out of your depth, I can't even get a perfect finish so i do the best I can and let the bodyshop finish it off... Key is not to get disheartened
Seems to be a trend
Am, not right now, I want to get my car painted first
Maybe...
I added up the wheels and tires for the two RX's and it came to just over €10k or $14k, I think I have a problem
And thats why it has been so slow
Phat ***, BOOM !
Hey, I'm glad i followed your thread. i need some advice on body work...
Some jackass decided i was good target practice last night. I figured because im starting from scrap I'd go for gold. Any advice on what i should do as far as the car goes? I really like the wing on the deck lid. could you help me out with learning how you did it? Motors i understand.. Paint primer and gaps not so much.

Thats my point
Those are attributes of a drift car, not a one off hundreds of hours and tons of money wide body moldings.
If I had this much custom fabrication into my body it wouldn't even leave my driveway, let alone try drifting in it.

18 x 11J +10
18 x 13.5J -10
Always a silver lining to every cloud
I'm lost, should I be insulted ?
And she is home, now to build the bumper and have it primed by Tuesday night, not happy, don't like deadlines...

im currently on the stock body aswell but **** sticks out haha since I had to use 3mm spacers because of the BBK...Im still deciding to either use the panspeed flares or have the body shop doing my front fenders to make me rear flares
#295
wow that is meaty! Definately needs something lol. What kind of motor is/will be in there?
#296
Yea i didnt want to strech it out much since i do a little bit of amature drifting so im running 45/145 in the rear 45/135 in the front....im getting parts at the moment for a rew swap, I have the renny with bolt ons and removed all the emmission

Me too
Thanks dude...
They are
Very nice dude !
The RX7 wheel specs are :
18 x 11JJ -22
18 x 15JJ -7
So I decided to make a start on the front bumper, as per usual I had to make room, got my priorities right though, saved the axle stand for the king size Toblerone
I did however use them for the front :
I had some temporary brackets already pop riveted on to give an idea of the task ahead :
However the heights just were not right so I had to cut and space it at the side, again I got out the green oasis foam for some general shaping and starting to get a top coat of fibreglass on the front to hold the shape, the reinforcement will happen at the back but if you look at the bottom of the bumper the line now looks level and proper... Still have to roll my front wings, its never ends...
