SII transmission ability to handle more power?

I've got a 2010 Sport MT and am looking at putting in a different engine with greatly increased HP and torque. I'm aiming for around 525hp with about 475 ft-lbs. It would be easiest to use the existing transmission and just run an adapter plate, but I have no idea if that kind of power would make the trans unreliable - or just blow it clean up.

Anybody have any kind of experience running that trans at higher power, or doing mods to improve it's power handling?

I have the same question of the differential, which would be harder to swap out..

Thanks.

The diff can handle it just fine, but for how long who knows, none of the swapped cars making that much power ever run long enough or are sold before they find out.

The trans is not something that is used at that power level typically but it depends on the type of swap because making an adapter plate is not easier than just running a trans that bolts up to whatever engine you are using.

Yeah I get it. Good to know I wouldn't have to worry about the diff for a while. And yes a bolt up solution was/is my first choice. I had read a thread which told me my car got the most robust trans the 8 came every came with, so have to consider the option.

Tranny will be marginal at that horsepower...but will last as long as you aren't drag launching it

The Series 1 5 speed seems to hold up fine at 500HP so far for me...I blew up a few Series 1 6 speeds quickly at that level

Diff and axles should be OK with the same launch warning
