So I guess get that G/R wire from the abs connector then connect the t56 VSS sensor to that and let the rx8 PCM do it's job (is that what you did?)

Also what's up with the speed sensor wire in the Audio head unit, has the signal in that wire been translated by the PCM? What is the point of this wire though? A nav system should calculate speed via distance/time.

P.S. any chance you can post the word file on your swap in a public google document? I've sent you an email as you mentioned on post #1 with no reply.
ALL---- I'm still cleaning up the word DOC but I will promise all of you who's asked will get it. I just hate to send it out and then send a revised update a few time so I want it right when it goes out. I'm sorry for the delay!!!

I took no pic's of the wiring but I will and add that to the file for everyone. I did nothing with the audio wire....Not sure about that wire at all.

Thank you so very much for this and I do appreciate your comment of finalizing the word file b4 sending it out. Forgive me if my earlier comment came across crude.

And your reply about the vss pulse is some info not readily found on this forum. Merci

Thinking of selling this car, as you all know I didn't build this car because it was my dream car it was just a project that Hinson pissed me off about.

I'm not sure of its value, I would appropriate any feedback that you all might have. I think I might just put it on Ebay and see what happens. With that said I'm up for a new project.....Any suggestions?

FYI...The car has a few little dings and the driver seat has wear to it. I tried to make it as much as a sleeper as I could and think I accomplished it as good as I could.

How about an LS6 G50 transaxle rear mid engine rx8? just picture that for a second.

What do you plan on replacing the rx8 with?

Not sure yet....... I've been thinking for the last two weeks and haven't really found anything that seems cool to me yet.

I was directing that towards the guy selling an o2 sensor. As for your rx8 the price would be subjective to the person interested. Objectively however it's got more power/torque, increased reliability, and common platform so its easy to find a shop to service engine issues, but only you know what's going on with it in case something goes wrong with anything else later. Subjectively I would place it @ $12k.

I'm thinking of doing this exact swap also. Was there enough room to keep the A/C? How much for the custom brackets?

I'd be interested in that doc as well whenever it's ready.

Really nice work; also really nice of you to share the details of it.

Might be for the ALC, which adjusts stereo volume according to road speed.

Oh man.....I have an 04 rx8 and I was just told by my mechanic I may have blown my seals.... Me thinks it's time for an engine swap of the v-8 variety. I have a question. Has anyone heard of doing a 5.0 ford swap into the rx8? I was just trying to think of another plentiful(cheap) engine to possibly do this swap with. Any input would be appreciated. As for YOU mdoffroad.....AWESOME! I may need to pick your brain abit....

This is a question and a project I have been thinking about a lot lately as well. Nobody has done a ford V8 swap into the RX8 yet, and it's unclear whether one would even fit. The push rod design of the LS engines makes it a lot more compact. However, people have managed to fit the Ford's modular 4.6L V8's into Miatas, so I'm sure anything is possible, especially with enough patience and money.
