Good stuff. Ask him tons of questions like that. You need to know what you are getting. Don't hate your car six months from now just because you spent a lot of money and despise one tiny issue. Clarity now will leave you happier later.

Yep that makes sense, you would need to find a location for the compressor, run some hard lines, figure out if you can use the stock condenser, and I'm sure the engine bay is looking pretty tight at the moment. I took my AC out, since the compressor was no good and I wasn't missing it, just one less thing in the way. Plus you'll hear that awesome Detroit muscle way better with the windows down!!!

110 with the windows down is awesome. Just open those little rear door windows and everything will be okay.

lol I guess there would be a difference eh? It does get to about 104 on the hottest days up here, and about -31 on the coldest lol. I guess your need for AC is compared to our need for heat.

If you come up with a way to get the wiring set up to stock gauges please post up what you did. I swapped a Built LS1 into my 04 rx8 and just ended up getting after market gauges- tach, oil, water temp, etc..... I first used the stock rack but didn't like it much plus I needed more room for my sway bar mounting so I installed a Trans am WS6 rack. It runs and drives awesome but I would like to have the stock gauges instead of using aftermarket. Anyway, let me know if you figure it out. Thanks and good luck.

Yeah I have seen one other completed LS swap (silver RX-8 but a US car) and it ran but a lot of the other stuff like the gauges did not not work.

Then you have the rebuilding of the engine after a short amount of time, because regardless of the condition they say it was in you never really know.

Once all that is complete you should be good to go.

I'm sure there are some little things I left out, lots of unknowns with a project like this.

I've seen a few people try and fail right around where you are at with this build. Getting the engine in is the easy part.
Bump.

Stock rear end in it. LS isn't stock and has several upgrades and haven't had any issues with the rear end at all.

my total cost out of pocket was 5500. I did everything myself in my garage. After selling parts I didn't need I ended up really spending about 1500 more than I expected. But really, its a project... I don't know if I will every be done with it. I'll do some things and be happy, then I'll want to change something else and do more work to it. Its a never ending cycle.

I've been thinking about starting a thread but right now I just don't have the extra time. And I hate it when people start a thread and than never finish it (although I've done it in the past like an A**). So when my schedule slows I'll definitely do it. By the way, if you end up needing a bump steer kit for your swap (which I did) I had my buddy machine me one and he said he will sell them for 200 a set. Came with everything needed from outer tie rod ends to shims.
