i can not seem to find even basic starting info for rx8's. it's tunes and tuns of info out there about drag car set up and the shocks are not the problem. i'm going to change them out to 2way ajustibles. i need help mostly with the springs. i dont see anyone that sells spring for an rx8 that is for drag.

Because no one (well 0.002% of owners) drags RX-8's. You could try the racing subframe bushings available for the RX-8, control arm bushings, etc, that might helps but shocks are a definite. You should also start your own thread.

Dont come in thus thread rattling off soecs about.a car we havent seen. There arent many LS swapped RX8s so make yourself known. Plus people are just gonna mess with ya for randomness in someone elses front yard. As far as hook, im not interested in building a.dead hooker. With a slightly aggressive launch its fine. But when i grab 2nd and third they just shake. Im in the air about an 8.8 as i have an Explorer 3.73 LSD in the garage. Just dont know if i want to spit out the money on shafts abd time on the brace.

There's like super pro, white line, power flex,rx8performance. All those to choose from for differential bushings. Give them a try since their cheaper. And if it's still hopping grab the sikky subframe bushings.

Man I wouldn't race a fire hydrant yet. This damn thing doesn't like to go in a staight line. Makes for a lot of fun on the street but I'm sure it would be useless at the track. Hopefully the diff bushings solve it. ET streets coming soon. I'm really enjoying driving this thing. The car has that nopistons sticker and a couple guys in a challenger SRT8 were talking smack about roturds. I didn't say anything and blew their doors off when he got a bit ambitious. This thing is the ultimate sleeper. It's like a nerd with a serious right hook.

Yeah it's a vent. I just cut it and put one of those axle breather/check valve things on it.

In other news. A guy in a silver RX8 was working his *** off to get next to me today going 40. He gunned it and I gave him two or three seconds (an eternity in car time) before I jumped and reeled him in VERY quick. I don't think I even downshifted. At the light, he asks. " that got a cold air intake on it?" That may be my new sig.

I couldn't stop laughing. It's not like my car is loud or anything too revealing. But to get pulled like you just got hit by an RPG deserves a better question. Even "that thing got a Hemi?" Would have been better. If it were me I wouldn't have even rolled down the window.

Rex, Did you just cap off the evap port on the intake? I was thinking I'd run a neoprene hose up to the evap port on the intake just to make sure my tank pressures dont get weird, though I like the idea of a diff vent setup to reduce the amount of lines ive got running up front as it is TIGHT at the firewall, and have to avoid cooking anything around the headers

I capped the line halfway down the car.near the fuel filter. Its a SUPER tight.fit for my fuel line and i used -6 rubber line with DEI heat shield. When/if the motor comes out ill bend up 3/8 hard line and also shield it.

So it appears that new tires have cured most of the wheel hop. It had some pretty bad 225/40s on it before now has some Yokohama 255/40. It isn't a dead hooker but it doesn't bounce the tires and 50 anymore. I almost had a set of 555Rs but the guy refused to mount a 285 on a stock wheel. Oh well that probably would have resulted in making an expensive maracca out of my rear. Diff bushings came in yesterday. I'll put them in to see if they improve things

Man i cant wait for the response this will get. Keep in mind this is full weight, full interior, ac, all options, zero weight reduction and filled the tank 300 ft before the scale. Scale is certified and accurate to 20 lbs. Im trying to find someone with a stock 6 spd RX8 to get a comparative. I wont listen to someone spouting numbers from their mazda pamphlet. I am providing real info and expect the same. Filter your bullshit guys.
