What V Vette is doing is similar to a RX-8 owner going to a Geo Prism forum and repeatedly telling them their car makes less hp. Who gives a rats ***? Why the hell would you be on their forum telling them useless **** for no reason? Sounds like someone's extremely insecure.

Again, even if the car produces 1HP (which it does NOT), I'd still pay the money. It's fast enough and agile, and comes with 4 doors to boot (which aren't useless).

We like RX-8s not because we like its horsepower. The car is more than the sum of its parts. Who the hell buys a sports car for gas mileage anyway? Go look at a Prius if you're looking for that.

Ford GT.

But that thing sucks gas worse than any rotary car.

lol
what I was talking about is what the OP wants to do, put in a different engine.

I just looked up V Vette's previous posts. What a complete asshat you are.

Like I said, get a REAL SPORTS CAR cause that R stang thing dont cut it either.

11 MPG for a car that cant get 250 HP? If you really want to play get a fast car and get your gas monies worth.

I dont know but why do 8 owners try to race anything????

Never buy a RX8 for speed.

I only read the title...STOP, this is a joke right??..Lets keep the comparisons to Jetta's and Civics..please
You remind me of me when I was 20 and owned a 993. I liked to mention what I drove. But I don't think I made it my screen name then mentioned it in every internet post I made. I bet you have a Vette belt buckle, and have a plaque above your bed that says "I own a corvette", am I right?

Good job douchebag.

Ford GT.

heh. I don't think I will ever spend more than 100k on a car. Even buying a RV over that makes me pause and consider what a waste it would be.

It's magazine racing. Guys in my campus's car club do that **** all the time. "LSx pwns your face" was what they'd say, and they go rotary bashing every week.

But people whom I've met at HPDEs and people who actually RACE won't ever say anything about it. When I was at my first HPDE, my instructor didn't tell me what was wrong with the car. He told me what was wrong with MYSELF. Vette or RX8, rubbish drivers ruin the performance.

Heck, my instructor drove a 100HP race prepped Fiat and eats other more powerful cars for breakfast.

Yes, I don't drive my cars FAST, I drive them HARD, there's a difference. That's why I want an RX-8 instead of 2005 Mustang. Those ponys are always throwing themselves left and right at corners.
That's also why I'm not into Mazda3 either. I've driven one and they handle very well for an economy car. But they can't stand my driving style. I literally fell asleep on the wheel while driving an auto Mazda3.

I'm planning a Miata for now, but I'll get an RX-8 as daily driver later. The reason I don't want an economy car for daily driver and RX-8 for weekend is because I already have the 240sx for weekend. And that car handles almost as good as the RX-8, only lighter.

What was the Int-X something mentioned in the post before? An ECU mod? If anything makes an RX-8 more pleasant for commute use I'd do that over taking out the RENESIS and putting in a 4 banger, I like the sound of the rotary you know. Also the Mazda warranty is something I would like to keep too. The RX-8 I drove before had 2 gears wrecked by owner before and they fixed it in a week for no charge and loaned me a Mazda3.

I'll go ask in the Int-X forum about making the car run leaner w/o detonation.

The Greddy Interceptor-X is a piggyback ECU that you could theoretically use to retune the Renesis for better fuel economy.

Why can't you just use the 240SX as a daily? That's got to get decent economy.

I guess you didn't read about that car before.
That's my 2nd 240sx. The first one got totalled head on by a F-250 truck.
I spent up to $6,000 over all to bring it from a shell to a complete car. I did all the labor and paid for the garage space and time.

If I get into an accident with that 240sx I can get about $1,000. If I sell that car I can get about $3,000. That's why I'm keeping that car in the garage. Daily commute has the most traffic and accident risk.
If I buy another car for $6,000 I can get a Honda Accord with insurance value of $4,000.

What would you rather drive? An Accord or a 240sx? I'm picking the latter for the same reason I pick an RX-8 over a Mazda3.

I can get a RX-8 MT for as low as $10K at an auction and if I get into an accident I'll get paid about $11K at least.

My very lightly modded 240sx gets max 30MPG on highway and about 24MPG in city. I shift up quick, set to neutral whenever I can and stay between 55MPH and 70MPH.

So the Interceptor-X can increase A/F ratio to make the car lean for better fuel economy, but has the risk of detonation right?
How much do they sell it for now? Do I have to drive the car to them to tune it?

I'll be interested in this thread when you tackle it, Jeff. I've thought for a while a V8 RX-8 would be pretty cool.

I looked through both your recent posts and mine to try to determine what the hell you're actually talking about, and I couldn't sort it. So I'm just gonna go ahead and say:

Are there any 16" wheels that can fit the MT? I know the MT has bigger brake rotors. Last time I tried the 16" wheels didn't work.
How much gas do you think the MT would save from having a lighter 16" instead of 18"?

lightweight 17's will fit, but I don't know how much fuel you'll save and the stock wheels are already so light that any wheels that are considerably lighter cost about $600-$800 a rim. Look at some Volks and Gram Lights and you'll see what I mean.

If it didn't work last time why would it work now? Unless you get a Base RX-8 NO 16" wheels will fit on the front. How much do you weigh? If you drop 30 Lbs. you can still keep the 18" OEM Rims
