If you have to ask you (a) probably can't do the work yourself and (b) probably can't afford it. MPG is cheap relative to engine swaps.

Budget for $5K minimum. Now----how long will it take for your new improved fuel mileage to pay this off? 3 year? 4 years?

You end up with a frankenstein car that nobody wants to buy. Best bet is to sell it if you can't afford the gas.

Sell the 8 and get a Honda - only cheap way. Should never have purchased this car if you have limited finances

I know the rule is not to feed the trolls but...

Consuming way too much gas? Compared to what? The VQ series motors have very similar gas consumption to the Renesis and are big, heavy, and sound like they are groaning when you rev them.

Good luck swapping a f-series motor into your RX-8. Let us know how that turns out. That motor is notoriously hard to swap and anybody asking this question on a web-forum isn't capable of doing the swap themselves. Since you are concerned about gas cost, you clearly don't have an unlimited budget to pay someone to do the swap. Oh the f-series motors don't generate a hell of a lot more power than the Renesis stock either. They also are low on torque with a narrow power band. Putting one into the RX-8 without major engine modifications would be retarded.

For the budget of this motor swap you could do a complete rebuild and a turbo/supercharger install. Considering the amount of fabrication necessary I'd say $5,000 if you could do everything in a shop yourself. If you're asking for advice on the swap then I'd say that's not happening.

So I am calling

lol I just feel sorry that Im watching the same BM show that this loser is watching

F22C/F20C is one of the engine Honda ever made, power to liter ratio its still one of the best in the world. but the thing is that it also has its limitations, which obviously you dont know **** about.

and Vtec ... hey moron, do you even know what VTEC does? and how does it work in detail? and

Seriously, every ******* Honda has it even my "low end" FIT has it. wow so ******* special.

and lol he is asking for VQ35 and NOT VQ37. VQ35 has a air balancing problem between the left and right side. OMG BM NEVER TOLD U THAT? WTF MAN ! LOL.

get lost dip ****.

I want to swap in a flux capacitor; how many Giga-watts would I need at 176 Mph as compared to 88 Mph?

And one more thing, there's plenty of room and the F22C along with the VQ35 is a direct swap. It's very easy to do and is very inexpensive.

the f20c and f22c are diffrent engines.... the f20c is the 2.0l and the f22c is the 2.2l that redlines at 8000 rpm instead of the f20c redlining at 9....
so no jap version for you!!!! and i think that would be a sufficent swap...

btw.. both of those engines are v-tech not just one
