Hell nice project and all but whats the point when you can't get that power transferred to the wheels in a controlled and synchronized manner...

currently looking at a rims...here are the specs I'm considering

295/45/18 10.5 w/35 offset...will stick out 1 inch and is 1.5 taller then stock
295/45/18 11.0 w/30 offset...will stick out 1.5 inches and is 1.5 taller

So with 11 inches of tread on the ground I hope I'll be able to pick up some traction...plus taller tire helps as well.

But as far as putting down the hp...actually...if you watch the first video..is sounds like ****...but I to a take off from a roll of about 10 and even though I'm spinning a little I shoot off pretty quick. The road is a back road and it's not like it's a clean road plus it was only like 60 degree's out that day.

So if I up to a 11 inches and use a set of nitto tires. I should be able to pick up full traction.

I'm currently running 265/35/18

11 inch wheel with a 30-40 offset with a 315/35 and you will still probably need a roll/pull if you lower at all.

he doesn't want a shorter tire. Those are gonna stick out so far past the fender it won't be funny.

oh and since I'm going with a taller tire the 295 is about all the wider I can go without rub. If I didn't go taller I could easily do the 315 or bigger

Oh car isn't being lowered...with the setup...my motor is actually maybe a 1/2 lower then the rest of the car..so the car is being raised. I did have it lowered and now it's getting raised to about 3 or 4 fingers between the tire and fender well. I like the look of sitting low..but around here with these rough roads...low is outta the question.

I'm redoing the suspension. From what math estimates I have made and I'm going with 450 lbs shocks in the front and 305 in the rear.

I currently have zero wheel hop with my current set up. But I can also feel the *** end bottom out between the shift from first to second.

If it wasn't for that happening I think the car would hold traction with these tires...it's just that bottom out and then it's sideways lol.

But hell......I'm still yet to fine tune this engine. I still need a bigger fuel pump...I can get on it in first and then second...but by the time you hit third its dieing out do to the lack of fuel.

A 315/35 on a 11" wide wheel with 32mm-40mm offset would fit with a roll and pull.

People are running 10.5" +45 with 275s with no roll/pull. You could run that same 10.5" moved 10mm out and stuff a 315 with a roll/pull.

Provide me the tires/wheels and I will. Unless you have been under the rx8 and have test fitted aggressive wheels/tires, please shut the **** up

I have the S-tech and am running the 265's and they don't even come close to needing a roll/pull so I can see the 275's even on the 50+ rim.

But anyways if I'm going to run a 295 that is 1.5 inches taller without a roll or pull... I'd hope you can get the 315 in there.

i just wanted to let everyone know things been going good...just been really busy...But anyways things should start coming along with my car in the next couple of weeks. I'm taking a new job....I start on monday and i'll be making almost twice as much...but it will be 50 to 60 hours a week. So I'll be extremely busy...

Anyways on to another note. Teagan was born today at 8:33 a.m. she is 22 inches and healthy as can be. Cries very little seems to be pretty content and cool. But I plan to hopefully with this new job in a month have the car build and finished on the road and hitting the track.

First gear...no not really traction but it still hooks up pretty good. The Nitto 555 tires in the size I have them hooks up pretty nice....

Think about it...look it up on the net...my tires are a lot bigger then the Vet tires...when I had the tires put on the rim they asked what truck I was putting them on cause they are so damn tall. I'll actually post some pictures and video of the car this weekend when I actually have time to just drive and video it. But all in all I love the way the car feels with the V8.

A couple of the guys with the LS1's say there isn't any traction or this or that but that's cause they haven't added the tread. When your talking a tire that is

5.84 inches taller then stock

and

a tire that is 1.75 inches wider your talking some serious change in grip and gear ratio.

A 5.84 inch taller tire is good for like say 1200 rpm... IDK I'm just throwing numbers...all I know is the car is insanely quick and it handles great...has a awesome feel and sound.

It's really what the RX8 should have.

Once you go V8 you'll never go back lol

God I hate that you did this to an 8. I mean, to each his own but this just bugs the hell out of me.

I'll tell ya what...you hate it...but how about you come down sometime and hop into the passenger seat...your heart will be pounding and you'll have a smile ear to ear.

One ride will change everything.

I thought boosting 15psi and having 400 whp was fun and exciting......try having 500 but having torque as well threw the whole curve.

It was sold, then resold, then hopefully pushed off a cliff. This has to be the worst swapped RX-8 ever.
