Izuzu V6 has to be one of the worst swaps then this. This isnt too bad
|
Nah the Isuzu swap will never actually happen. This death trap actually ended up "finished".

I'll Admit The Swap Wasn't As Good As I Wanted. The V8 Adds Lots Of Weight And The Suspension Can't Handle It. Doing A V8 Will Make You Alter The Steering. You Have Two Choices On Engine Position Up High Or Tucked In Low.
Tucked In U Really Need To Go Dry Sump. If I Was To Redo It I'd Do A Supercharged 4.3...It Would Save A Lot Of Head Aches. In Yes This Car Has Been Sold A Dozen Times And Had The Shit Ran Out Of It. |
If I was to do a build like that just would have turned it into a straight line monster. At least you attempted something. I know I will be in the future prolly 5-7 years. Alot of threads are out dated on here. I wonder if Hinson is good whith their swap package for the lsx.

The Way I Look At It... Is The Professionals Have Spent Years And Aren't Offering A Lsx swap. So It's A Little Tougher Then It Looks. There's A Lot Of Issues Between Weight And Size
Why I Say 4.3.Wouldn't Have To Move Steering And Weight Would Be Close To The 13B. |
The professionals have no issue doing it, it just cost more cash than the average RX-8 owner can afford to do it right. The rest have mostly turned into unfinished half assed monstrosities.

That's a very clean looking conversion. Love that hot air intake. Nothing like 220 degree intake temps to improve performance. ;) (joking!)
Do not love the maple syrup brake fluid. All that effort and money and they couldn't bleed the brakes to make sure the thing can stop? |

Ok I know it's been a while since there was any activity on this thread. But I just read the whole thing and the videos won't work. Is this guy still around. I want to see this in action

It was sold, then resold, then hopefully pushed off a cliff. This has to be the worst swapped RX-8 ever.

Best laid plans and all that. I think an 8 is just too much for this car, and carbs, well just say no..

Looking for V8 SBC RX-8 Swap info
Seems like everyone is putting in LS motors but I'm kinda old school.....I am putting in a SBC 350 with a 700R4. Looking for any and all info I can get to make this happen. I would like to use the electronic steering but I don't have a wiring diagram and I know that most everything on the RX8 is controlled through the body module. So many questions......I guess a wiring diagram would be great to start with if anyone knows where I can get one, then there are the gauges and warning lights. Any help from anyone who has been through this swap or even the LS swap would be great. I would like to put the motor in once and not have to take it back out to modify something I could have done first. I have already installed the bump steer kit and put in the motor mounts, that's about it so far. Not interested in why I should have used an LS....they are great motors but that isn't what I am doing here, going with the SBC. Any info anyone has would be appreciated.
